Honestly i kinda ship rtn!ino and menma and like ??? Please let me Explain. also a Lot of this is personal hcs since you don’t learn v much about rtn!ino and ofc my menma is Different then canon menma

let’s take a look at a few things

menma and ino are both kids of very famous parents they deal with this fame in very different ways tho

menma lashes out, is angry and tired of trying so hard to be his own person. he pushes people away and works himself harder and harder and harder ino, meanwhile, draws into herself. she’s aware of the expectations put on her, and i don’t doubt she’s a strong shinobi in her own right, but fighting just might not be her thing. she wants to run the flower shop and make sure her friends are okay and she’s basically everyone’s caring big sister lbr

ino is Comfortable in who she is. she’s smart and soft spoken and kind and caring and she’s not really sure if she’s the best to become head of the yamanaka but she knows she’s still got years to go on that menma meanwhile hides away who he really is to the point that he’s probs not even sure who he is anymore as long as he’s Not His Parents(tm). he doesn’t know who he is and he’s very self destructive about it.

so like ??? please give me ino helping him relearn who he is. she gives him someone to actually talk to about his feelings b/c sasuke is a playboy who he feels can’t take anything seriously and trying to hang out alone with sakura ends up with hinata on both their asses b/c they’re rivals for him that part is canon and he likes sakura sure but he doesn’t really wanna deal with hinata’s possessiveness while he’s just trying to have a heart to heart. but hinata probs doesn’t see ino as a ‘’’rival’’’ in his affections and so he can comfortably hang out with her. they have tea together and ino understands. she understands that menma is Tired and just wants to be His Own Person and menma helps ino have more self confidence in herself. he feels like ino any of his friends should have their own say in what they wanna do and encourages her to talk to her dad about working more at the flower shop. at following her dream instead of having to do what everyone else wants.

just Please give me these two learning from each other and growing into their own people w/o pressures of who they have to live up to and menma loves how tender and kind ino is and she was such pretty eyes and such a nice voice and she’s so smart and ino loves how driven menma is and while most people at this point see him as a Brat(tm) he’s always there ready with a compliment or a few kind words for any of his friends or even his parents

this got really long and i’m sorry and again this is all just my own hcs since we don’t learn like jack about these people and i’m sure people would look at this like ‘well ino has hinata’s personality and menma is just the other world’s naruto so it’s just like that’ but it’s not b/c they have different backgrounds and they grew up differently and they relate to each other differently and like ???

  “What’s the point in sticking for dinner, if I’m not gonna eat?” When was the last time he ate with them? He can’t remember. He usually stays out later, climbing in through his window when he gets home, though he’s sure his parents notice him coming in anyways.

  He was really hungry though. Come to think of it, had he had lunch? He’s pretty sure he had breakfast-- though it was just some toast, probably. That didn’t matter though. On days like that, he could just wait until Minato and Kushina went to bed, and then raid the fridge-- enough for something to eat, but hopefully not enough to notice. Though, again, he’s sure they did.

Menma was not in a good mood. Though, finding him in a good mood seemed to be rarer and rarer these days. He trudged into the house, sighing quietly as he shut the door behind him. Another day of training, and nothing seemed to improving--- like he had hit a wall. Over and over and over----

And there was the last person he wanted to see.

[ small appearance headcanons:

menma’s hair is dyed black. he does this so that he looks less like minato

the same is said about menma’s eyes. he’s always letting just a bit of kurama’s chakra leak through to change his eye color to red

b/c of this his canines are longer than naruto’s and his whiskers are thicker

his pupils are also slits

and yes they do widen when he gets excited about something

he’s kinda skinny for his height. he’s just a little underweight.

this is actually why he wears his cloak--- so no one will notice and he doesn’t have to worry about anyone worrying

tho even w/o his cloak his clothes underneath are pretty baggy

his clothes are mostly dark colors b/c he’s Edgy(tm) to go against minato and kushina’s association with light colors

basically a lot of his style choice are to distance himself visually from his parents ]
