WEIGHTLIFTING FAIRY KIM BOK JOO
Okay, found this one in my drafts.. lol
First time to write something like this in my page.. but, GAHHHHH. Can’t express how much I love WEIGHTLIFTING FAIRY KIM BOK JOO!!!!!!! (come on, who doesn’t love this light, refreshing, cute, cheesy series???)
I didn’t regret that I watched it first over Lee Min Ho’s LoTBS. Haha (sorry fans) I love the whole cinematography of this series. The complimentary colorful outfits, the storyline, the cheesy lines, the stolen kisses, holdings hands, not to the mentioned, THE GREAT ACTORS AND ACTRESSES!!!!! Hands down to Lee Sung-Kyung & Nam Joo-Hyuk for portraying the “real relationship goals” anyone should set their standards to hahahaha kidding aside, their acting had developed so much and we got to see a different side of them here especially LSK (from a bitch sister in CITT to a spoiled doctor in Doctors to Cutie, sporty, loving, fragile girl in WFKBJ)
I really love NJH’s acting here. (I’m sure he set up another standards for girls out there) *hi fangirls* Joon-hyung broke the first lead stereotype (where guys offer something to her girl, acting too formal in front, etc. etc) he also showed that men should not be afraid to cry in front of their girl. He’s not scared to show that he’s not perfect and he’s fragile too (he got the looks, he’s a swimmer, he’s a charmer, romantic) hands down NJH for such a heartfelt acting for ep 15. I cried while watching and I really wanna hug him!!!!
Also, this drama taught a number of lessons for its viewers. Especially to girls out there who are not confident with who they are. WFKBJ taught us to love first ourselves. Be confident with who you are and do not be afraid to show who you really are. Because in some point, there will be someone who will appreciate and love all your flaws. (Awwww) it showed also that no matter what, you have your friends and family to support you (like when KBJ took a break from her training). When it feels that everything is so wrong and you can’t seemed to find your purpose, there will be someone who will be your happy pill and give you tons of encouragement and will tell you to do not be afraid to take risks. I love how JH and BJ supports each when they’re in need of care. They’re really the relationship goals!!!
A little bit disappointed that this show is underrated in Korea. Like, how could they? I must say that this drama is 2nd place on the list of my Must watch korean series of all times. It felt different watching this drama. I love the chemistry of the leads and the storyline is not boring and really refreshing - no too complicated issues, no “gf vs ex gf war”, no heavy drama. It’s really addicting that I have watched each episodes for around 5 times?? (Not exaggerating, promise) BJ and JH showed us what a healty relationship should be. 😉
There’s too many things I want to share about this drama but can’t freaking consolidate all my thoughts hahaha but Anyway, overall… I REALLY FREAKING LOVE THIS DRAMA!!!!!! Nam Joo Hyuk is so precious!! Lee Sung-Kyung is my role model. Ughhhh so much love. And btw, I TOTALLY SHIP THEM…!!! 😍 so to anyone who is not yet watching or is looking for a series to watch, I highly recommend this 😉

A Korean Odyssey
Sypnosis:
In 2017, Son Oh-Gong and Ma-Wang are in conflict with each other as they look for a true light in a dark world where evil thrives. Having made a contract with Seon-mi 25 years ago, entitling her to seek help from Son Oh-Gong whenever she calls him in exchange for letting him free, the two meet again in a fateful encounter. From there, Son Oh-Gong is bound to his protective role towards Seon-mi, the little girl he had met years ago. (Source: Wikipedia)
Plot: 8/10
As I am really a korean drama fan, I decided to write down how I feel about korean dramas that I have watched - So this is probably my first post about it (but please be kind, I’m not good about writing and expressing my feelings lol)
*Spoiler alert*
Let’s start about the plot. I find the story way too deep that it seems to be. It’s not about only about a guardian protecting the “heroine”. I think it also tells us that whatever you do, you have to take responsibility of the actions and consequences that it follows. The people around Samjang (Oh Yeon-Seo) played an important role for the growth of her character, well the character development is intense. Especially Lee Seung-gi’s character. From a “jerk” who doesn’t even know what real pain is to making an important decision that will risk his life to save the love of his life.
The twist about the Geumgganggo is woah. I thought it was only like an ancient bracelet that will only confined Son Oh-gong. At first I was really annoyed about this. I thought he was just a coward hiding behind this freaking bracelet - not even telling her how he really feels. I find their story too fucked up, like come on, they both lived years being lonely then when they found each other again, their fates were already determined and will end up killing each other.
Only having a one day for “closure” is way too short. My heart is still crying over how he cannot really fully expressed how he really feel about her because of the freaking time limit. (Fck the spiritual realm, always in the picture 🙄) anyway, the ending was bittersweet. I had hoped for more, but I ended up crying instead because it’s too freaking sad. I cannot bear also P.K and Richie’s story. I hoped also that before Asanyeo took over Richie’s body, she will find peace and will truly remember her human life. I hoped she had met her mother. Like also having a closure. I also waited for the moment that she will confess her feelings with PK (i shipped them also).
Ma-wang, the annoying one. I was irritated at him at first because I cannot feel his sincerity (well, I quite understand him). One time he will helped Oh-gong then the following second, he will be deceived then will turn against him again. My gosh. He was well, quite gullible ha ha ha. But I was sad because I loved their bromance. Cha Seung-won portrayal was hilarious. He was really the funniest one. I cannot helped but love him as the story continues.
Oh Yeon-seo is just too beautiful. Her character portrayal and character develpment was spot on. From being the weakest one to sacrificing herself to save the world. I honestly shipping her with Lee Seung-gi but oh boy, she is dating the flower boy, Kim Bum. Hahahahaha. I loved how she fully confessed her feeling to Oh-gong (girl, it was about time). I was getting impatient because these too were just too coward to tell each other how they truly feel. Always hiding behind the freaking geumganggo. I loved how they build up the story and the true “confession” (plus the sweet scene hihi).
The antagonist, Kang Dae-Sung is too ANNOYING! Coward and jerk. He is just too evil hiding behind a good looking face. But The question is, what happen to him? I need to see how he ended up - i’m not convinced. Lol
Overall, the story is good. The actors are spot on. No wonder it was the most watched drama on its time-slot. This was a success comeback of Lee Seung-gi. I’m also quite happy that Park Bogum declined the role. I think Lee Seung-gi is fitted to take this role. His aura is different and as well is attitude. He portrayed the role very very well. I feel the Goblin vibe while watching this series. The ending also felt similar. I am still hoping for season 2 because, come on, we need to find answers and we want Seon-mi and Oh-gong to get back together.but I also find the ending fitted to the initial plot. They’re not match made in heaven and I think this is one of those stories that the protagonists are meant to meet but not meant to stay with each other. Awww. But this is still sad.
Watch this drama, very interesting and it will break your heart.
