This is part 2 of my photography series from Antarctica. I focused on wildlife photography this time. To join my next trip to Antarctica visit: https://bit.ly/3OfpiYp Wildlife photography is so much fun when its as easy as it can be in Antarctica. A lot of people think of Antarctica as only penguins. But there's so much wildlife here, so many wild animals. Orcas, seals, birds, and all of them are - well - everywhere. Its such a joy doing wildlife photography in Antarctica, and I'm so blessed to get to do it. by Brendan van Son

The time has come for my Antarctica photography expedition! This is video 1 from my trip with Polar Latitudes to Antarctica. My Trip to Antarctica: https://bit.ly/3OfpiYp My Camera Gear: http://bit.ly/BvSGear Antarctica is special, and there's no need to even mention that. It's just one of the most impressive, remote, and unbelievable places on earth. For a photographer, it's paradise. And I think most think that photography in Antarctica is mostly about penguins. Sure, there are lots of penguins to photograph in Antarctica. But the peninsula is about so much more than that when it comes to photography and experience. The landscapes are just unreal. This first episode from the series documents my journey to Antarctica with Polar Latitudes. by Brendan van Son

The Dolomites are beautiful. It's almost too easy to take photos here. But, camera set up is important, this is what mined looked like. Join me in Italy next year: https://ift.tt/U4L8iHQ Real talk, The Dolomites are one of the most photogenic places on earth. Great photos seem to come easy here. There are lots of really nice landscape and travel photography locations, and I've loved my time exploring this stunning place! by Brendan van Son

Landscape photography is often done at f/11 or so. But in The Dolomites I found myself taking pictures at f/2.8 to add depth. Visit: https://ift.tt/GsOgCSh My Camera Gear: http://bit.ly/BvSGear Finally, I'm in the Dolomites. It's crazy that this is the first time I've gotten to do landscape photography here. I've passed through the Dolomites before on other photo trips to Italy, but never stopped. I can't believe it's taken me so long. It is incredible, too. There's no wonder this area is so well known among landscape photographers, there's so much to capture here. On this first day in the mountains, I found myself photographing things at strange apertures. I think it made for some pretty good pictures, though! by Brendan van Son

Venice and travel go hand in hand. And I'm pretty sure there are few places in the world better for travel photography than Venice! Visit: https://ift.tt/i0Kpkvg My Camera Gear: http://bit.ly/BvSGear It's been a while since I traveled to Venice. So I was obviously thrilled by the chance to return. It's a travel photographer's paradise and once of the most photogenic places on earth in general. These are the photos and videos from my 48 hour trip to Venice. #venice by Brendan van Son

I absolutely love wildlife photography. But is taking photos of animals at 1000mm too much lens? Visit: https://ift.tt/3cPeBIy My Camera Gear: http://bit.ly/BvSGear On a recent trip I decided to give myself the photo challenge of taking wildlife photography at 1000mm only. 1000mm is a lot of lens, even for wildlife photography. Most images of animals are taken in the range of 400-600mm. So, to take things this far is a little bit silly. That said, I think some of the photos came out really cool. And it definitely forced me to think of my images in a different way. It's more about the photo than the wildlife, and in crafting great images, that's important. by Brendan van Son

Photographers usually do landscape photography fairly wide angle. But today I tried landscape photography at 500mm! My Instagram: http://bit.ly/BvSInsta My Camera Gear: http://bit.ly/BvSGear It's something a lot of new photographers don't look at: long lens landscape photography. I think it's a bit of a photography trap to fall into thinking you need to have everything you see in your photo. Using a telephoto lens like a 70-200mm usually helps people find photos they wouldn't have otherwise found. But using a 500mm lens in landscape photography is almost unheard of. On today's vlog, I took that challenge. by Brendan van Son

I'm loving my Canon r6 more than I thought. In fact, I felt like it deserved a full review. The Canon R6: https://amzn.to/3GsD85c When I got the Canon R6 I thought it would be my vlogging camera. But after using it for a couple of months I've realized that it's actually a really good all around camera. On this review, I go over some of the most important aspects of the R6. This isn't a heavy specs review, but more a thorough explanation of the camera's capabilities. Oh, and of course, this is focusing on wildlife photography as I was in Etosha National Park when I filmed this. by Brendan van Son

Our photography road trip continued here in Namibia with a journey up the Skeleton Coast to Etosha National Park. Visit: https://ift.tt/3cPeBIy My Camera Gear: http://bit.ly/BvSGear This country is just spectacular. It's one of the few countries that just has a little bit of everything for photographers. You have landscape photography, portraits, wildlife, and everything in between. Photographers are spoiled by the soils of Namibia. It's just a stunning place to be. Our road trip took us up the west coast today. We cruised along the desolate Skeleton Coast. Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/brendanvanson Facebook: https://ift.tt/2ogMcWq by Brendan van Son

Landscape photography has some amount of copying. But there's photo immitation and there's straight up theft. Don't be this type of photographer. Visit: https://ift.tt/3cPeBIy My Camera Gear: http://bit.ly/BvSGear All types of photography face copying and imitation. But landscape photography is especially susceptible because, well, landscapes don't move. But it's one thing to go out and look for a photo composition someone else did once and another to go up to someone and steal their photo. I call these types of photographers "vultures", other photographers call it "comp stomping". Either way, if you want to be a good landscape photographer, you need to learn to find the great compositions yourself. Sticking your camera on top of another person's camera only works so often. #landscapephotography by Brendan van Son

One of the best photography locations in Namibia is this epic ghost town. It's just a photo every corner. Even 4 visits later, and I'm still loving it! Visit: https://ift.tt/2zr5Q5y My Camera Gear: http://bit.ly/BvSGear There are a lot of travel photography locations that people go once and never return to. However, this ghost town in Namibia that is covered by dunes is an absolute must visit, not only once but many times. I took my group there in October and we spent both a sunrise and sunset photographing the ghost town. I basically had to beg the group to leave, it's just such a fun photo locations. #travelphotography #namibia by Brendan van Son

I'm back on that travel photography roll! I've made it to Namibia, one of the best place on the planet for travel and landscape photography. Visit: https://ift.tt/2zr5Q5y My travel photography Gear: http://bit.ly/BvSGear After a long voyage, I touched down in Namibia. I was exhausted, but brimming with excitement and ready to get back to my career of travel photography. It's now been over 18 months since I worked my job. It's just crazy to think how long removed I've been from doing the thing I love. by Brendan van Son

I finally got my hands on my Canon R6. This camera has been released for over a year but all sorts of things kept the R6 from my hands. The Canon R6: https://amzn.to/3HxfghM My first impressions on the Canon R6 are very good. This camera is everything it was supposed to be. And while the full review is coming, I will say that this camera does everything I need it to. The megapixel count might not be massive, but as a vlog camera and second camera body, it's absolutely perfect. So much so, that I want to buy a second one. There will be a full Canon R6 Review soon! by Brendan van Son

I had one of those photography days where it seemed like everything was going wrong. But then, I ended up with a better photo than I planned! My Travel Photography Instagram: http://bit.ly/BvSInsta My Camera Gear: http://bit.ly/BvSGear This is the second last vlog from my Canadian landscape photography road trip. My plan was to get all the way back to the Rockies and Yoho National Park. But, a road closure and some other factors meant that I was late. Instead of sunset, I found myself at a sunrise and a photo location I'd been dreaming of photographing for over 5 years. by Brendan van Son

Landscape photography can be incredibly rewarding. But sometimes to improve your photos you need to get a little uncomfortable. Visit: https://ift.tt/2ZKJOf0 My Camera Gear: http://bit.ly/BvSGear My landscape photography road trip across the west of Canada continued with a little rain. Ok, a lot of rain. As I passed Whistler, it was raining so hard I couldn't physically take photos let alone be outside. But, I did end up at a waterfall for some photos near Vancouver. It was a tough place for landscape photography, but I really love the images that came out of it. by Brendan van Son
