Fairy Tale Spells by Bree NicGarran
Fairy tales have always been with us. Apart from teaching moral lessons and practical cautions, they remain a source of wonder and inspiration that persists even in a modern age dominated by technology.
There is magic in these tales as well - spells and charms that aid the worthy and conquer obstacles, heal the ailing and bring wealth to the poor, thwart the wicked and exact terrible revenge, or grant someone their hearts' desire and make their dearest wishes come true.
I have created over a hundred such spells, inspired by the tales recorded by the Brothers Grimm and the folklore collected by Andrew Lang. One volume was published back in 2017 and another is forthcoming. If you're curious (and maybe a little bit daring), here are some previews of the spells to be found in the pages of The Sisters Grimmoire.
After all, who couldn’t use a bit of Happily Ever After?
The Sisters Grimmoire, Vol. I
A Bellyful of Stones - A curse to punish the greedy.
Roughskin - To protect and disguise oneself from those who mean to harm you.
Table of Plenty - To obtain needed money or provisions.
The Red Flower - For removing enchantment.
The Sorrow Pot - To relieve your sorrows and bring justice for a grievance.
The Wall of Thorns - To protect one’s home and property.
The Sisters Grimmoire, Vol. II (forthcoming)
Make Sure You Lock Up - To set your household wards when you lock your front door.
The Ferryman's Curse - To curse another with the problems that plague your own life.
The Shining Web - To repel trouble from the home.
You can find more spells from The Sisters Grimmoire, Vol. I and potion and powder recipes from Pestlework by checking out the mid-month minisodes of Hex Positive, available on your favorite podcast platform.
All of my titles can be found on Amazon or ordered from the Willow Wings Witch Shop. (If you'd like to see them in your local witch shop, feel free to give the proprietor my contact information!)
If you're enjoying my content, please feel free to drop a little something in the tip jar! 😊

The day was sunny with wind just cool enough to make the sweat droplets feel like ice as it wisps by. The grass at its peak of green shades dance as the wind gusts in from the north. Talon Hawksley walks down a dusty trail. The same dusty worn down trail he has treked for ages. This trolled on trail leads from the woods to the lovely village of Ingrhamdale.
Talon reaches the gates of Ingrhamdale. He looks up at the high tops and waves to the men on top gaurding the walls. The stone that paves these walls has been around for centuries. Its cracks tells many stories. It will hold strong after all these years. Although there hasnt been a battle to test the structure in decades. Last battle was the Death of the Dragons. A battle that was found on these grounds during the previous king and his reign. Lord Dagin had a run in with the dragons when he found Ingrhamdale. The battle was over land, that the dragons believed to be their rightful property. As usual the humans ran the dragons out of the land but not with out many casualties. Hundreds of dragons and thousands of men lost their lives in the Death of the Dragons.
As adventurous as that is, it is said to be just a myth. The kind of myth your mom tells you so you'll come home before the towns torch is lit. The town torch is a 20 ft tall torch , over seeing all the homes and businesses. The torch is lit every night at the beginning of curfew to let those wandering about at night it is time to retreat to their lovely abodes.
After admiring the structures build and strength and the mystery that lies within, Talon runs downs a ride road that enters into the heart of the village. He knows he has to get home before dinner is ready. He is given the nightly chore of setting the table. Its an easy chore, the only rule is have it done before dinner is ready.
In true adventurer form Talon got caught up in defeating the imaginary woodland creatures and lost track of time. He was in a mad dash not to upset mama. Talon makes his way down the dusty back road and sees Mrs Alwyn owner of Alywn's Food Shack, famous for the best rice buns in town which paired nicely with her curried chicken necks. Her husband Rodi Crowstail is the village bow maker. Nicest man you'll ever meet and artisan of the bows and arrows. His bows are made with the smoothest wood and strongest string. Arrows made with the finest feathers, placed just so. This was the way his father taught him and his fathers before him. Craftsmanship passed down by generations.
Talon runs up to Mrs Alwyn, big smile on his face "hello Mrs Alwyn. Sunny day aint it?" "Ah yes! One of many beautiful days to come, I see" Mrs Alwyn replies back in a tune and a wink. In one flowing motion she swoops her arm across the table, draping a long silky sleeve and opens her hands to reveal a fresh steaming rice bun. ....... Hope you enjoyed a snippet of a book i was working on. Unnamed at this point and time. Stay tuned for more❤

How to change your beliefs and manifest in few days.
Based on an article I found.
"Psychologist Deann Ware, Ph.D., explains that when brain cells communicate frequently, the connection between them strengthens and “the messages that travel the same pathway in the brain over and over begin to transmit faster and faster.” With enough repetition, these behaviors become automatic. Reading, driving, and riding a bike are examples of complicated behaviors that we do automatically because neural pathways have formed."
For example when we read. We don't read letters by letters or words by words. Most of us read by just looking at it. It is automatic. The information goes into the brain extremely fast. Because we repeated the action of reading SO MUCH that our brain process it at "the speed of light".
If you want to create a new belief, you have to REPEAT.
"In terms of repetition, it is estimated that it takes 10,000 repetitions to master a skill and develop the associated neural pathway. As clinicians, we can encourage and support repetition when our patients are working to achieve their health goals."
Most of the time, you will manifest things into your life, under 10 000 repetition. Your 3d will start conforming way quicker than this BUT aiming toward this goals will be very helpful.
Repeating your technique Wether it's affirming, visualising, scripting, is extremely important that's how neural pathways are created, that's how new beliefs are created.
Consistent thoughts = beliefs.
Beliefs = 3d reality.
"Visualization can be a very powerful sense that can help patients build new neural pathways toward behavior change. For example, ask patients to visualize what their optimal health looks like, feels like, and what they would be doing if their diabetes was managed."
How to loop it enough to manifest quickly?
I'm going to specifically focus on visualizing and affirming.
Affirming
You can pick 10 affirmations which implies the same thing. You repeat them 100 times each. In the morning and right before going to sleep. In total you repeated your affirmations 2000 in the day. Tbh I believe that after that much repetition you should have manifested what you want already if you did not waver. If you continue doing it consistently for at least 5 days you would have repeated it 10 000 times and a new neural pathway would have been created. The seed would have been planted. The new belief is here, and your 3D is conforming.
Visualizing
I personally script a scene. A scene that implies that I have what I want. I will loop the scene as many times as I can. Litteraly brain washing my mind with it. Specially when waking up and when going to sleep. If you stay consistent results should come in less than a week.
Repetition creates fast results. No matter the amount of faith you have in your manifestation. You don't have to wait weeks or months to get your manifestation. As long as you repeat it enough, it will show up. You don't have to believe in it, YOU HAVE TO REPEAT IT. You have to persist. Until it shows up, because it will. There's no way it won't.
Affirm, repeat, persist.

Cinnamon Tea
All recipes The first four recipes taken from Diabetes Meal Plan which talks about the health benefits of cinnamon if you’re interested in that. I find the original article rather annoying to read so I’m rearranging them to post here, for your enjoyment[?]
According to the article, cinnamon is naturally sweet and doesn’t need to be sweetened much. They recommend liquid stevia, but I don’t think it matters much what sweetener you use. But stay away from agave anything. That species is endangered now.
Anyway, recipes
1. Pure Cinnamon Tea
1 stick of cinnamon
3 cups of water
Sweetener [optional]
Roughly break up the cinnamon stick and add to the pot of water. Bring to boil, then reduce to a simmer. Simmer 20 minutes. Serve with optional sweetener. If you keep the cinnamon stick in the pot with some water, you can continue to add more water, simmering for five minutes, to make more tea. You can do this a few times, apparently.
2. Lemon Ginger Cinnamon Tea
1 stick of cinnamon
3 cups of water
juice of half a small lemon [personal guess is two teaspoons?]
¼th teaspoon freshly grated ginger
Sweetener
Follow all steps above, but add the lemon juice, ginger, and sweetener I guess after the cinnamon tea is boiled. Apparently good for cold/flu and your metabolism
3. Cinnamon Chai Latte
This recipe originally called for dandelion root tea but uh, I’m a broke-ass bastard and I have no idea where you’d buy that, and Amazon isn’t an option for me. I think you can use just any kind of tea, herbal or not, with this, so, that’s what I did.
2 tea bags
1 cinnamon stick, broken into pieces
3-4 cardamom pods, crushed (or use scissors to cut them up)
½ teaspoon whole cloves
½-inch piece of fresh ginger, thinly sliced
5 cups water
Milk of your choice to taste [note: original site specifically suggests ‘milk and coconut milk’]
Sweetener of your choice to taste
Bring all to a boil, then simmer for 10 to 20 minutes on low heat. Once finished, add milk to the pan depending on how strong you want the tea. Add sweetener, and serve. This can be reheated on low heat
4. Cinnamon Ceylon Tea
These bastards really put the same recipe in two different numbers, only changing the type of tea used. I had to read the damn thing three times to understand what the difference was at all! I probably shouldn’t have bothered with this article at all but I’ve come this far, so…
I call this Lazy Cinnamon Tea because it’s so easy but didn’t wanna put that as the name.
1 tea bag [green or ‘regular’ as the site put it]
½ cinnamon stick or ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
pinch of turmeric
boiled water
Put first three ingredients in a cup, cover with boiling water. Wait 3 - 5 minutes. Add whatever additions you like, lemon juice, sweetener, milk, etc, and drink. The cinnamon stick can be reused 4 - 5 times.
And because I hate leaving just 4 entries on a post…
5. Apple Cinnamon Tea
Taken from Palate’s Desire, thank you for your service, check the website out for a video showing how to make this nice recipe.
Prep Time: 3 minutes - Cook Time: 30 minutes - Total Time: 33 minutes Servings: 2 people
Ingredients:
1 Gala Apple
1 Cinnamon stick
1 “ inch Ginger
Lime Juice to taste
1 cup water
Honey to taste [but any will probably work]
Also needed: Saucepan, mesh strainer, spoon
“In a saucepan add sliced apples, ginger, cinnamon stick and water together. Keep on medium low heat for minimum 30 minutes , let it come to nice boil. After 30 minutes, turn off the stove and set sauce pan aside. Cover with a lid and let it steep for another 5 to 10 minutes. Next strain the liquid over a mesh strainer. Gently mash apple with help of spoon to extract its juice. Once tea is warm enough , add lime juice and honey. Sip warm tea on a cold day.”
Well, that’s a lot of cinnamon tea! I was gonna put this in my queue but I put waaaaaay too much work into this for that. If you try any of these out, lemme know in a reblog. I might give them a try myself.
