Symbol Animation

Assignment: To create an interactive presentation of the symbol matrix methodology. What I learned: I learned how to use Flash to create an interactive animation with images that I created in Illustrator.

Transformation of Scales {Pop Art}

Assignment: To demonstrate and practice photoshop skills by creating images with scanned in magazine clippings and manipulate images to demonstrate a particular style of art.

What I learned: I learned how to use photoshop and the different functions it provides for my work. I also learned how to create original compositions within a style of art.

Scavenger Hunt

Assignment: To take a series of pictures that had relating formal elements. The formal elements include space, shape, line, repetition, and color. 

What I learned: To recognize these elements in my surrounding and how to relate them to each other. I also learned how to edit these images in photoshop to help emphasize their relation.

Assignment: To reproduce an image of a rubber duck by using the pen tool in illustrator and tracing an actual image of a rubber duck.

What I learned: How to utilize the pen tool more efficiently by creating less anchor points and by using the handles to create smooth curves.

Assignment: To design and produce a book showcasing a font and the variety of styles associated within that font family.

Design Culture Now

Assignment: To design a poster that presents a lecture series by four artists. College students are the target audience. The purpose of this assignment is to utilize hierarchy in regards to typeface, styles, size, and positioning. 

What I learned: How to organize and arrange information based on the importance. I also learned how to create hierarchy within an information structure.
