The project that got me into embroidery!
My mother had taught me daisy chain stitch as a kid, andit was Covid, and I had just left home and was stuck in a dorm room with remote classes. So in a mad rush of hyperfixation, this anteater happened. I couldn’t get much else done while I worked on it. It’s also on a terrible polyester nonbinary flag so the fabric is very warped, but I still love him.

This one is special. I sewed it together from these long strips of granny squares that I found lying around in my family house, and only when I showed it to my grandmother did I learn that my great grandmother had made them. (My family collects bits of fiber from thrift shops and all over, so I assumed this was more of that.) I’m so glad they can have a new life, and if I don’t wear this hood enough they can become something else.

I had this tiny ball of very thin yarn and no idea what to do with it, until I remembered a goofy little glasses case I had sewn for my grandmother as a kid. She loved it, and I figured it was time to try another. This was knit on size 1 US needles, which is the smallest I've ever worked. I also learned to do a picot binding either for this project or the one right before it, but it was extremely satisfying with the little blue button, and I had only just enough yarn to seam it up at the end. January 2025

Forgot to show the back but it has some little purled diamond shapes too

Made with a chart from The History of Hand Knitting based on some designs from a medieval pillow. Truly SO delighted with this, and it's very soft. Lined with some stiff green plaid. April 2025

Made with this possum pattern! Love this little guy. First crochet creature from a pattern and it was very fun.
Love the toes. He’s also got a chip out of one ear.

Made a little coat out of scraps for my dog! She really struggled to stay still for photos, but she tolerated all the fittings fairly well.
