Break up Visa and Mastercard. Break up any bank worth more than a billion dollars. Tax excess profits at 125%. Make companies pay exorbitant fees to conduct stock buybacks. Cap interest rates on mortgages at 1%. Raise the minimum wage to $50 an hour. Make healthcare universal and ban private hospitals. Make legislators sell everything they own and live in barracks like monks. Make elected officials swear oaths of poverty. Tax churches. Prosecute Exxon. Take Fox News off the air. Build a world in which it’s impossible to be both rich and powerful.

This panel came across my dash and I had to go look it up again:

And oh man is there a lot to unpack with it.
First: that shift in POV from Ulquiorra to Ichigo via how Inoue is viewed.
Ulquiorra:
Ichigo:
For Ulquiorra she's the whole focus, a panel dominating the page and her expression and humanity are fully on display. She and her attention and thoughts are important and vital. For Ichigo she's a distant figure with indistinct features in a hesitant, needy posture, she's more of an object than a person.
Also like how Ulquiorra's panels are consistently between Ichigo and Inoue, and with Ulquiorra shown in the closer, more intimate position related to her.
They're talking about her, but Ichigos speaking as if she isn't there, eyes and attention wholly fixed on Ulquiorra. On the other hand, Ulquiorra looks at her even in Ichigo's POV - and you can tell that tiny, faceless image of her is Ichigo's POV because it's behind Ulquiorra's tailcoat.
Then of course, putting this page in context we have a flurry of Ichigo wordlessly fighting Ulquiorra bookended by these two pages:

Then they finally speak:

When Ulquiorra asks why Ichigo is stronger he suggests fighting Grimmjow, Inoue and protecting his other friends. Ichigo doesn't answer, but physically, the person at his back at that time where he's standing, the person in a position of being protected from Ulquiorra's blows is Rukia - the exact person in their last clash he tried to turn to leave for.
Even with Inoue right in front of him, even arguing why it's not up to Ulquiorra to decide if Ichigo's wasting his time trying to save her, Rukia is undeniably there simply because she's on Ichigo's mind and an equal or greater priority.
I think Ichigo is at bare minimum subconsciously, but most likely very consciously aware that Inoue is safe with Ulquiorra even if Hueco Mundo in general isn't safe. There's never any of the urgency to get to her or get her behind him or away from Ulquiorra like there is with Grimmjow and even moreso Nnoitora.
He knows Ulquiorra isn't going to hurt her, just stop him from taking her back to the human world.
Inoue knows it too. She's never afraid of him, only afraid for Ichigo. Ulquiorra is no danger to her.
The only one that probably doesn't know it is Ulquiorra, but he's in the middle of realizing his feelings and that the orders for her safety are an excuse and a safety blanket to deny the fact he not only doesn't have any inclination to harm her, but is unable to harm her or see her harmed.

I'm thinking of kris repeating berdly's name in shock when you try to tell ralsei that you are going to the festival with berdly of all people. Thinking about the conversations we only get to hear half of, where kris presumably tells ralsei and susie that ralsei and asriel don't look that much alike. Thinking about all the times where kris changes the prompt we give them into something that they'd prefer to say.
Kris talks. They chatter, even, but we as the player don't get to hear it. They don't get a text box. We only ever know that they spoke at all from the reactions of other characters, and even then, we rarely know exactly what was said.
And part of this is that whoever the deltarune narrator is seems intent to pretending like kris doesn't exist. You check the mirror, and it says, "it's only you". Kris plays the piano and it says, "your hands begin moving on their own." If kris speaks without your permission, the narration doesn't acknowledge it at all, committed to the lie that kris doesn't exist beyond their role as our vessel. But that's not what this post is about.
This post is about how it's entirely possible that kris has tried to talk to us when no one else is around. They could have tried to tell us their plan, or begged us not to make certain decisions, or explained that we don't actually need to steal asriel's 5 dollars because they have a piggy bank buried in the front yard. Kris could be asking us questions, or asking us not to look for the bunker password because they have a plan and we should trust them, or asking us to let them sleep a bit longer, and we the soul just carry on the same regardless, their one-sided monologue falling on deaf ears. We would never even know, because of how thoroughly the narrative of deltarune has denied kris a voice.

It's really cool how, after Chapter 2 established the idea of Darkners (who aren't Ralsei) eventually petrifying when in a Dark World they 'don't belong' in, both Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 found a way to use that idea in really weird and creative ways to enhance their themes.
Chapter 3 blurs the seemingly obvious lines of "every Darkner belongs in the Dark World that created them", asks what does it really mean to 'belong'. A Plugboy (Ramb) and plenty of Pippins were brought to life via the Dark Fountain that created everything in TV World… and yet there are characters expressing the idea they don't belong due to their Dark World Backstories that means that they come from other Worlds - even if these obwere still totally in Kris' living room when those those Dark Fountains were opened.
And then it messes with it even further by having all the Pippins be totally fine, while Ramb the Plugboy and even one of the Zappers got petrified. It seems like the idea of belonging or not belonging in a Dark World is a lot more abstract and emotion-based then we previously thought. The Pippin's dialogue about Ramb implies he got petrified simply because he never really made friends, because he never fit in.
And that just… really helps the atmosphere of the endgame of TV World. The way that Tenna's obsession and breakdown is causing his world to crumble all around him, causing his own people to feel alienated. And this idea of feeling like you never really belong in your own home obviously fits in with the undercurrents of Dreemurr Family Drama that run through the entire chapter.
Meanwhile in Chapter 4, the Petrification is used to emphasize the narrative element of Predestination and, well, Prophecy. Because it's not just that the Darkners from the original "Dark Sanctuary" manifest as Petrified when Susie creates her "Second Sanctuary"
The Darkners of the Second Sanctuary already appeared Petrified in the First Sanctuary.
Meaning that basically, as far as the Dark Worlds were concerned, Susie's creation of the Second Sanctuary was preordained. So preordained that the objects that would become the Darkners that populate that Dark World came to life as soon as the First Sanctuary did, but then turned to stone because they actually belonged in that not-yet-created other Sanctuary.

The friends that are chronically 30 minutes late are so important to have because they teach u patience and the meaning of loving someone so much u let ur anger go. I have not mastered either yet but I’m sure it’s coming
#so true#i actually get so anxious about 'being late'#even when im the only one who has the little imaginary schedule#(its the autism)#and because of this me and my friend#(time-blind/ADHD)#made our own system so i can plan while accounting for his time-keeping
