In this illustration, the Garden of Eden is an arid, alien landscape which is the habit of snakes (evil). Into the landscape crawls a baby (innocence), and in a terrifying, repulsive counterpoint, to what is acceptable in the natural world, it is the baby who bites the snake. In this moment, the snake begins its metamorphosis into one of the world’s best loved lollies - a jelly snake, representing power of innocence over evil.

A piece of collage work I did a little while back using digital composition using fruit and food

Some more experiments I did using a ripped collage technique and added paint. I really loved the way they turned out and hope that I can explore this kind of collage making further.

Some experiments that I did using the photographs of the makeup textures I created on the mirror (Photographed before) on top of some gorgeous photographs of models that I found on the internet. Photos cited below. I think that these look really editorial and interesting. I love digital composition and I think that this looks like something out of a magazine.

As I was looking more into string and knitting like the trees of the arboretum, I thought I would try wrapping my family’s furniture in Canberra. Mum wasn’t so thrilled but after she saw the final product, actually really liked it. Unfortunately I ran out of string to completely cover the front, but the idea is there and can definitely be applied to other furniture too, and I could even try different colours

This is one of my favourite books that I own. It is called Raw + Material = Art, and is all about recycling and repurposing items to create incredible pieces of art. I am especially drawn to the hanging art pieces and the gorgeous paper crafts too. I think this is such a great topic to explore through experiments, and re purposing items I have lying around into something else could be really fun

As I was looking more into Studio Bertjan Pot- I noticed these amazing woven ottomans which I absolutely adore. I think weaving is such a great way to create texture and form and would love to explore some kinds of weaving in my own experiments.

I think these are absolutely incredible. They are made by a studio called Studio Bertjan Pot. These masks are all made out of coiled rope or string. It is incredible how each mask has their own unique personality, and no 2 are alike. They all have their own facial expressions too, which I thinks adds to their own uniqueness.

At the National Arboretum in Canberra ACT, people knit scarves for the trees to keep them warm in the winter. It is such a cute little project and so much fun to visit. I found this really inspiring and wanted to possibly try something like this myself.

Another experiment I did using makeup yet again, except this time black and white printed photographs. I love that because it’s printed on normal cartridge paper, you are able to see the small dots of the ink that the printer has made. I think this makes it feel old fashioned and interesting. This is a form of collage which I really love, and want to try this again in the future. The colours and textures are very vibrant and pop off of the page

As I was playing around with makeup, I decided to mix water, white acrylic paint and pink eyeshadow to create a light pink liquid. I then placed it in a plastic sleeve and squished it around to create different shapes. I also added powder eyeshadow in it to by scraping the pan. These remind me of clouds, but it doesn’t really excite me too much. Maybe if I added other colours together it might look more interesting, however if I did that it might turn into a murky mess too...

After seeing another students work using string, it inspired me to try this technique, except I used foundation and different kinds of makeup- and I really loved how it came out. I especially think that the black background worked the best as the colour really poped off of the page

Some little experiment I did in relation to collaging. I love combining line and shape within collages as I think it gives it a contemporary feel

I absolutely love these string installations by Gabriel Dawe. I would really like to try something like this myself in the future. They look like light reflecting through a prism.
