Have you seen the new TV show Happy Face? It looks like a complete rip off of Prodigal Son and I’m annoyed. We could’ve just had more Prodigal Son

I watched the first two episodes but I'm not caught up. I don't want to call it a rip off bc it's based on a real woman whose father was a serial killer in the 90s. She later wrote a book and made a podcast about her childhood and her fathers crimes, tom actually listened to the podcast to prepare for prodigal son. I think any show about the child of a serial killer is just going to have similar story beats and themes...that being said still wish we could ALSO get more prodigal son like come on guys 😭

funny little goof: I like to think that during their edgy/rebellious phase Malcolm and Ainsley would say that they would want to be a surgeon when they grew up. Just to get on Jessica's nerves or freak people out bc 'a surgeon is a perfectly normal job to want, you're the weird one for making a big deal out of it.'

oh I could absouletly see them doing this as teens, especially ainsley. they're like "omg mom I thought you'd want us to have a respectable and high paying job!"

the way that in the pilot when malcolm asks what jessica "laced" his tea with and she replies "love" we think it's just a little joke bc she had been trying to get him to take some of her pills to help with his mental health in the same scene. but at the end of the episode it's revealed that martin would incapacitate his victims by giving them tea laced with ketamine..........
