bring back the habits that made you happy as a child. there’s no reason you should ever have to give up harmless things that bring you joy. you don’t have to age out of having fun. finger paint. write mediocre fanfiction and questionable poetry. put chocolate chips in your waffles. sing in the bath, and while working in the yard, and while washing your hands. hammer tunelessly on a piano. spin in circles until you fall down. climb a tree. just because you’re now in charge of your life doesn’t mean you’re expected to give up on the things that make life feel worth living
I found these gifs I made a while back for a site that’s not running anymore, so I thought I’d post them here. It’s a description of psychiatric symptoms and states of mind using a pink box and some other stuff.
Drink lots of water. Learn where your food is coming from. Stretch. Surround yourself with people that support you and where you’re going. Let go of things you can’t control. You can’t control most things. Apathy isn’t the answer, but neither is holding on too tightly. Forgive because the energy you spend being angry, bitter, etc. is worth so much more when put into things you care for. Forgiving doesn’t require granting whoever/whatever a space in your life. Spend time alone. The internet doesn’t validate your feelings and experiences. You validate your feelings and experiences. Things probably aren’t going to go like you planned. The way you plan for things to go isn’t the only way to get where you’re going. It’s okay to run out of energy. Nothing lasts forever. Pain, heartache, and regret aren’t immune to the last sentence.
