My sleep deprived mind came up with this. I haven’t even had any oarfish related dreams recently.

finally, stephen mitchell making me actually appreciate how the iliad ends:
At the end of the Iliad, Homer gives Priam and Achilles a reprieve of infinite time. The final agony of Troy, the appalling misery that is fated to happen in the traditional account of the Trojan War, will never happen within the confines of the Iliad. The great city of Troy still stands, forever poised on the brink of disaster. Andromache will never become a slave, nor will her child be hurled off the wall of Troy. Hecuba will see Hector's body come home, as she desired. Priam will forever sit at the funeral feast, eating, drinking, and mourning over his fallen son to his heart's content.

actually, i should just say this in its own post--if you're ever looking for a translation of anything ancient greek, ian johnston has a ton of translations that are both genuinely good and completely free to read. a lot of the time free translations are really old or just not that good but this man has translated, like, everything from homer to sophocles to kafka to nietzche and he's done it extremely well. i didn't think he had an antigone but i just looked and not only does he have one but it's genuinely very good. so i highly recommend his website as a resource!

(Book 5 of the Iliad (trans Emily Wilson) when he gets back to the battlefield after being wounded by Diomedes)
Could you fucking imagine being on the same battlefield as this certified nepo baby. Ohhhhh you got injured by Diomedes and not one but TWO gods came to save you, and then you got immediately healed? If that happened to me I’d be a pile of gore on the ground bro. But yeah whatever Aeneas gets unlimited free passes. Cuz he’s his mommy’s favourite boy. Whatever.

They made a city out of angels recently. Skyscrapers of wings strung together with sinew, apartments of very strong yet hollow bones, there's even a giant heart in the sewer to keep everything flowing, etc. You can rent a penthouse in Michael's cranium

The plot structures of movies need to start taking more cues from classic opera. Open with a fucker in a hat who directly addresses the audience and explains what's going on in a way that raises far more questions than it answers, then immediately drop the viewer into the middle of a shouting argument between three of the weirdest people you can possibly imagine.
