it’s a pre-cannon story leading up to the events of the book (the writer definitely has some musical references as well) and it is actually heart wrenching. It’s Darry centric, but everyone is given lots of character study. The author gives unimaginable attention to detail & does these characters justice in a way that reminds me so much of the way S. E. Hinton did. PLEASE I NEED TO FANGIRL OVER IT WITH YALL!
