One thing I really love about seedy anime websites and YouTube mp3 converters is like. They actually do what they say they’re doing. But they WILL try to trick you into downloading a virus. Like it’s almost just a greeting at this point. I try to extract a song from a YouTube video and it says free VPN installer tonight perhaps? Free VPN installer tonight queen? And I say YouTube-mp3 converter you sly dog, you know what I’m here for. Show me the goods. And YouTube-mp3 converter says ahhh you got me, no getting one over on you. Thought it was worth a try tho. Day 3 of @tes-summer-fest: Ghost -

For this prompt, I wanted to make a massive piece about the ghosts of the failed Nerevarines at the Cavern of the Incarnate -- I've sketched it and realized that this will take more than one evening of work (I could have planned this better, but I didn't). So I'm putting that sketch aside to develop to its full potential in the future. It wouldn't be fair to rush it.

So I chose something more achievable and drew a bonelord instead. What a funny design. I drew this while saying aloud from time to time: University of Skeleton...

These designs are fairly anachronistic with each other according to my vague timeline. I really only drew what I felt like at the time (started this in February to stave off demons from class). Brief headcanons below

Sotha Sil loses his arm and is left with scarring before the formation of the First Council. He tends to wear long robes and the mask seen in Foul Murder. Influenced by @sothasil 's design!

Almalexia is quite young here, still a puppet queen to the Nordic occupation. She completes her facial tattoos (the lines above the dots) later in life.

Vivec’s hair changes from white-blonde to a dark brown to reflect how ze grows beyond who ze is with Nerevar.

Alandro Sul’s tattoos might change, and don't really have meaning at the moment. He’s an Ashlander by birth, and I tried to incorporate the line designs seen on the banners in Morrowind. Influenced by a piece of @mannimarcos artwork!

Voryn Dagoth is older in this depiction. He grows facial hair after betraying the First Council and bringing the news of the Heart of Lorkhan’s whereabouts to the Nords.

Nerevar is also older, well into his council years. He takes good care of his locs. He uses gel from scathcraw as a locking gel. And is sure not to ingest it, as that “Ravage Health” side effect does not sound pleasant. I was very influenced by @nerevarines Nerevar design, regarding the texture of his hair.

What my beloved taught me

It’s insane to me that Dragon Age 2 is sandwiched in between two WAY HUGER and WAY MORE SUCCESSFUL games about more traditional fantasy protagonists facing off against world ending threats and winning and it’s this…weird, raw, personal tragedy about how no matter what you do, you can’t always stop crisis and disaster from occurring. Like The Hero or Ferelden, no matter who they were, wants to stop a Blight. The Inquisitor wants to repair the sky. And Hawke, like, wants to make some money, hang around their friends, and keep their family and their adoptive city safe. And they can’t even fucking do that, so unlike the heroes before and after them. You spend seven years in Kirkwall until the game says, “yeah, no matter what, the prejudices and traumas and hurts of this world are Too Much for one person to stop them. The world changes, wars roll over the land, you cannot stop history, Hawke. You tried. You failed.” And then you just sit there, sixteen years old, listening to “I’m Not Calling You A Liar” and you’re like….well, I guess I really wasn’t a hero. Damn. I love it.
