Modern Acting AU: Off Screen

Modern AU where vision holders exist and Genshin Impact's the most popular TV series, with a game adaptation based on the actors and actresses?

Sorry I just have so many HCs for this.

Albedo is one of those actors balancing college and career flawlessly. He's top of his year and his year mates didn't even know he acted until Genshin Impact dropped its first season and he was announced to appear in the game.

His friends probably beg him to send on-set pictures. Albedo doesn't, for security and NDI reasons, but he does send pictures of Klee in her costume!

Venti's 'ehe' was impromptu because he forgot his lines and they went along with it.

Xiao as a very positive and comforting person?? everyone in set loves him and he's just so encouraging whenever filming takes its toll on everyone.

It's even funnier to see him switch to his cold character so quickly.

Razor having tons of pet dogs. He mentioned in an interview that he liked to observe them to practice his role.

Kaeya was the one to drag Diluc for auditions. They're childhood friends and just like on screen, their personalities still clash.

Diluc probably only did acting like one of those side hobbies. His dad signed him up for acting classes as a kid and he was unnaturally good at it, so Kaeya tries to drag him along. He didn't really think Genshin Impact would turn into an internationally loved series.

Childe's the type of actor to leak spoilers on his twitter ac. He gets scolded for it a lot too.

Jean was usually cast as the ditzy-blonde girl or the soft, girl-next-door type so playing the acting grandmaster was refreshing and she loves it!

They had to retake the We Will Be Reunited scene tons of times because Lumine and Aether couldn't stop laughing.

Some of the characters were probably recruited for superhero films like Marvel or DC since it's easier to have actual vision users do supposed-CGI scenes.

Diluc was probably offered a batman role??

Childe auditioned for spiderman once.

Filming Dragonspine scenes were a mess. All the scantily dressed characters would just huddle towards those with coats.

Xiao once got injured while filming his plunge attack. Qiqi couldn't stop crying and Zhongli had to pick her up and comfort her bc found family

Speaking of Zhongli, he's probably a really rich and famous actor already?? He's the perfect male lead in sappy romance dramas and the unbeatable action hero for mafia/fight movies, so he's got a pretty big fan base.

The younger characters like Klee, Qiqi, Diona, and Sayu call him grandpa though

Chongyun gives me teen model vibes.

Filming the lantern rite festival was a crowd favorite since a lot of the props and stalls were real and Mihoyo invited the rest of the Mondstadt and Inazuma actors to have fun before the set was removed.

Imagine all of them raising lanterns into the sky?? Everyone's instagram and twitter has pictures of the event where they're just enjoying each other's presence

Beidou, Kaeya, and Fischl bumping into stuff bc they're not used to wearing eye patches

notes: platonic relationship but can be considered romantic. you were acquainted with the character before turning into a zombie.

Diluc

Diluc carries your death personally. Like most tragedies in his life, he considers your zombie-like state as his fault and responsibility. If only he didn't let you leave alone that day, if only he took up his darknight hero persona earlier — then you would've been safe.

He initially tries to distance himself from you, believing that it would be better to watch you from afar. It's not like you remember much anyway, he knows he's just a blurry figure in your memories now. However, his cold treatment proves to be difficult with the way your muscle memory brings you to his tavern every afternoon. The first time it happened, he internally panicked.

"What in the.. (Y/n), where's your guardian? How did you-"

"Apple.. apple cider please," You mutter blankly at him, taking a seat at your usual spot: the same spot that's practically reserved for you to cheerfully order an apple cider after a long day. His heart clenches at the memory, but he nods and proceeds to make your order.

"One apple cider drink. Less ice with mint and apple garnish, just the way you like it." After finishing your drink, your guardian arrives with evident relief. They should've have known, really. Of course you'd be at the tavern, it's practically a second home to you!

Since then, it's not uncommon to find you wander in the tavern to your usual seat, ordering an apple cider. Sometimes you surprise Diluc by ordering another one of your usual drinks, other times you don't say anything at all. Diluc doesn't care how you often forget to pay either, he would give you whatever you want without charge.

When you started carrying around a notebook, you'd list down your tab to try and pay him back (he tries to distract you from remembering that though).

Kaeya

Kaeya, like Diluc, would try to give you space as well. Unlike Diluc though, it's not because he feels guilty but rather because he's not sure how to treat you in your new state. To him, the (Y/n) he knew is dead.

Although it couldn't be helped when he catches you outside the walls of Mondstadt, wandering farther from the city. It's his duty as cavalry captain to ensure everyone's safety so he makes haste to bring you back.

"You know you're not supposed to waddle off, little zombie," He says, opting to not call the form you're now in by name. He sighs when you make no intention to reply and tries to grab your arm to guide you back. It was then did he notice the little bundle of Calla Lilies in your arms — his ascension material which you collected for him a few times.

This was a breaking point for the cryo user. He's quick to engulf you in a hug, his cool temperature complimenting your own cold body.

"I'm sorry, Y/n. I'm sorry. I'm here now," He holds back a sob on your shoulder.

Eventually, Kaeya does open up to you. The people of Mondstadt would often see the cavalry captain teasing you in daylight, writing random orders on your notebook and laughing at your confusion. He'll always miss the energetic person you were before, but he learns to make do with who you are now.

"Kaeya... mean," You'd huff, protecting your notebook which he's been messing with.

"I swear we really do call Diluc as Mr.Grumpy. It has nothing to do with name calling, Y/n."

Thoma

Like Kaeya, he isn't sure how to treat you anymore. At first he tries to be casual and offer you lots of hugs but he soon finds out that his body temperature as a pyro user isn't good for your dead state. He still tries to cook for you and watches over you whenever you're in the Kamisato estate.

Thoma misses how you were but he tries his best to recreate memories for you in hopes that you'd remember/train your memory. He'd bring you to feed the stray dogs by the outskirts of the city and ramble about how you used to do this together in the past as well.

"Y/n... Won't remember your stories," You tell him sadly as you feed the stray sniffing your hand. Thoma looks at you, eyebrows furrowed with clear heartbreak written on his face. He's quick to change his expression when you face him though.

"That's alright! I just have to tell you again," He cheers, pulling you in a side hug but quickly letting go as he remembers his warmth could harm you. "We can make new memories too! Don't worry about forgetting, I'll remember for you."

Anyway I got copic markers for the first time this christmas and uh-,, decided to test it out on Diluc :)
