Its that time of year again...Bruno Week is upon us!

This year's prompts are focused around his Stand abilities, and we hope you'll be as imaginative with their application as Bruno is with his trademark zippers! 🤐 The event runs from September 21st-27th. Use #brunoweek2025 or #brunoweek for all your submissions so we can find and share them, or tag the blog directly.

Please spread the word so we can give this golden-hearted gangster the birthday bash he deserves! And happy creating! We'll see you next month.

Was the discord server supposed to disappear ? I don’t use it a lot and I don’t know if that’s just how pop ups work but this morning I saw that it was gone

Yes, the discord was a temporary hang out and is closed for now. A farewell message was posted on Friday explaining a few options, we're sorry if you missed it! Good news is, we plan to bring it around again next year!

Also explained in the farewell was how to make sure you get notified of the next pop up event. Please dm for details if you'd like more info.

Finally, just a general note, this blog will not be monitored daily after this week and will go on hiatus until next year, so responses to any asks and messages will be extremely delayed after that. Thank you for understanding and we hope to see many of you return for Bruno Week 2025!

Bruno Week Day 7: Free Day

Final @brunoweek drabble! I ended with another Hearts of Gold verse (my Bruno/OC series) story for his birthday today.

Thanks to everyone who read my stories this week, I had a lot of fun participating in Bruno Week again this year!

“Bruno, are you still working?”

Bruno looked up somewhat guiltily as Maria peeked into the office.

“I promise I’ll be up in a few minutes, I just have some things I need to finish up,” he said.

“You’ve been to bed late every night this week,” Maria reminded him. “You’re exhausted and overworked. A few emails can wait until tomorrow.”

Bruno sighed. “Ten minutes, my love, I promise.”

“Alright. Ten minutes.” Maria took his discarded jacket from the back of his chair and leaned in to kiss his cheek. 

And that was the exact amount of time she would give him before she put her foot down.

She waited ten minutes, then five more, and finally Maria decided that she was going to do something about her husband’s insistence on working himself to the bone.

With a fond smile, she slipped into something more comfortable and tucked Bruno’s coat on over it, heading back down to the office. “Bruno, I gave you ten minutes,” she said as she slipped into the room, waiting. He didn’t even look up. “Almost finished with this email, darling.” Maria shut the door firmly and locked it into place. That got his attention. He turned to her and his eyes widened as he saw what she was wearing. “Maria, what—” “You work too much, amore,” she told him, taking his face in her hands and leaning over to kiss him deeply. “Come take the night off; an early birthday present from your longsuffering wife.” His face softened and he stood, pulling her into his arms and kissing her again. “Well, I can hardly resist such a tempting present, can I?” She took his hand and pulled him away from the desk as Bruno reached behind him to close his laptop and follow her out.

It had taken Bruno a while to accept that he could no longer enjoy the sun, lay under it, bask in its warmth, like he had growing up on the ocean. Taking a moment to feel the heat on his face was one of the things that had always grounded him, bringing him back to old days.

So, when he had been turned by Diavolo and his life had subsequently been turned upside down, it had only made it worse that his once peaceful moment a day was now impossible, leaving him to sit longingly near unshaded windows—but not too close, lest he burn.

But as he had learned to accept his new body—the crimson eyes, the fangs, the need for blood—he had also come to accept his new companion in the night sky. Though it waxed and waned he found it to be a quiet, dependable friend, there in some capacity on all nights but the new moon.

So he had replaced his daily basking with moonlight walks. Sometimes one of the team accompanied him, sometimes it was by himself, but it was there, under the soft light that he had learned to find his peace.
