It’s a little past 2am when Higuchi slips out of her apartment with nothing but her pajamas, a zip up sweater, and her gun holster. The essentials for a late night walk really. The night air is refreshing, invigorating her restless insides from the sleepy apartment. Higuchi takes a deep breath before she turns to the street.

On a normal night, she would be sleeping now, prepping for her normal 7am wake up for her normal day.

But that hasn’t been her normal for weeks, maybe months.

self-inflicting odyssey

Before he can think too much about it, Tachihara leans in with a ferocious snarl. Junichirou's collar is dragged downwards as the cold barrel of a gun connects with his skin, sending a shiver down his spine. He looks up, staring into guarded brown eyes that glint dangerously in this light.

Instinctively, Light Snow thrums under his veins. His world begins flickering, but an even harsher press of the gun drags him back to reality.

“You won’t survive more than a week here if that’s your go-to, Illusionist,” Tachihara hisses. “Welcome to the real world.”

or, kunikida struggles to cope after the events of the Azure Banner case and the deaths he believes he caused. Ranpo visits him in the middle of this night and takes him out, helping him realize what more there is for him- for the both of them, together.

morning, noon, and night, through the seasons, I’ll find you and love you

Chilling spring air nips at Nikolai’s cheeks and nose as he flies over the capital city. The darkness of the night makes his flight even colder, but Nikolai wouldn’t have it any other way. The bright moon and stars are all he needs to guide him to the cave on the shore.

Why would he fly home during the day when he is given this gift of a view?

At this time, the streets are quiet. The only noise seems to be the wind whistling in his ears. Shadows cast from the moon stretch and sway with the wind. To think such a lively city could be sleeping is amusing to Nikolai. Even the bars and brothels are still at this time of night. Every building dark but–

There.

In the distance, a small, flickering yellow glow catches Nikolai’s eye.

Someone’s awake?
