A headache pounded against your skull to the point that it forced you to wake up from your dreams and into reality. The awful taste in your mouth was the next step into your hungover state. You licked your lips with disgust, soon peeling your eyes open to reveal the burning sunshine that consumed your features. If this was what heaven felt like, you didn’t want it. 

“Am I dead?” You groaned aloud as you scanned your surroundings with little awareness as to what even occurred the night before. Looking down at the ground you noticed Namjoon’s figure sound asleep, or at least appearing to be.

If you were going to suffer then you thought it was only fair to share some of the misery with him. With that as your motivator, you yanked the pillow from beneath your head to chuck it in his direction. Almost missing him, half of it collided with his face. There it rested, entirely blocking his expression, eventually prompting him to pull it away.

Maybe it was the champagne or that the bride and groom were so in love. Maybe it was different because it wasn’t you up at the altar. Maybe all of this mess was a truth you were attempting to bury deep down. You didn’t want to admit the inner turmoil you were battling with. As a matter of fact, you refused to let other people be right. 

The entire duration of the ceremony was adorned in beauty that you had not experienced before. You were swallowed whole into another world without realization of anything happening outside of the vows. How does it feel to meet the eyes of someone you adore and to know for certain that it would last forever? Maybe at some point you did, but it changed along the way after schedules were conflicted. Daily hangouts turned to a few times a week to only once in awhile. You missed the past because that is where the ‘honeymoon phase’ thrived. You missed him.
