oughhh ..... waking up in the middle of the night or just a little too early and your f/o groggily tugging you back into place with some little half-coherent words of encouragement. call them selfish, but they'll take the label with no complaint if it means they get to have you lie down at their side just a while longer. the tired little motions they go through to try and make sure that you're able to fall back asleep before they let themself do the same, whether that be tracing shapes along your skin in gentle little gestures or even humming, they're putting the effort in even though sleep might be clinging onto them like a 2 ton weight.

imagine your romantic!f/o realizing they're in love with you for the first time. maybe you're not even doing anything in particular, but they're completely unable to tear their eyes away from you, or maybe they're alone with nothing but their thoughts and realize they're full of nothing but you. they find themselves thinking of you whenever something happy happens to them, wishing you were there by their side to share the memory. they think of you when they see anything even remotely related to you ― something in your favorite color, a picture of an animal you like or they feel would be you as an animal, a specific scent. whatever it is, their cheeks heat up at the realization as they whisper to themselves, "i love them."

imagine your f/o noticing when you start picking or scratching at your face, arms, hands or anywhere else. they take your hands in theirs while you both figure out something to do instead that will keep you from picking. maybe you watch something or play a game together, maybe they get you a stim toy, or maybe you just end up cuddling for a while. bonus: they notice it happening in public, and quietly get your attention, hold your hand and subtly distract you- nobody else catches on.
