Ancient's Ruins
Caspar David Friedrich (1774-1840), German romantic painter. According to the romantic ideals of his time, his works have a purely aesthetic and visual function; while the titles of the paintings themselves, should not be too descriptive. In this way the painter will not titrate or date many of his works, much to the chagrin of those who seek to establish the chronology of his work.
The artist will be particularly productive, and more than 500 works are now attributed to him.
(Oil paintings and details. The pictures show, in order: The Cemetery Entrance, 1825; Cross and Cathedral in the Mountain, 1812; Ruins of the Monastery of Eldena, 1824; Ruins of the Oybin Monastery, circa 1835; Huttens Tomb, c. 1823-1824; Cemetery of a Cloister Under the Snow, 1810's; The Cemetary Gate, between 1826 and 1827; Kügelgens Tomb, between 1821 and 1822; and, finally, The Abbey in the Oakwood, 1810)

Spitsbergen Island
Abandoned since 1996 but it serves as a shelter for the people visiting, if you know the right person to ask.
