Bucket Wizards Adventure: See McSpillin play at the Gaelic League in Detroit

Over the weekend the Bucket Wizards were at it again. On Saturday we checked off another adventure from our bucket list; to see McSpillin play at the Gaelic League in Detroit. For those of you who don't know, McSpillin is an Irish folk band made up of some of our good friends. 

We always get invited to see them play at the Gaelic League but we never end up going for whatever reason, although we go to many of McSpillin's gigs at other places. Well, we FINALLY made it this time, despite almost driving to Canada by accident. Too bad we didn't have our passports or we could have checked off "Travel to another country together" off our list too!

How it all started.

On June 25, 2015 we embarked on a road trip. Our destination: a cabin on Mullett Lake near Topinabee, Michigan. Rather than take the expressway like most people do, we decided to take a more scenic route along Lake Huron. The drive up was supposed to take about 6 hours. We turned it into 12 glorious hours, and stopped at some awesome places along the way. 

After a couple fun-filled days at the cabin, we took a major detour on our way home. Instead of going back the quick way down I-75, we drove along the coast of Lake Michigan and then down through the Manistee National Forest. There was no real plan ahead of time and everything was decided on a whim. Seeing all these beautiful sights and exploring some of Michigan’s best treasures was an incredible experience. So much so, that we were inspired to make a bucket list of things to do and places to see together. That’s where this blog comes in, to chronicle our bucket list adventures and share them with you.
