Maisie Clark | Servant | Servant at Buckingham Palace | Fc:Sarah Gadon
Maisie Clark was the favourite among the Royal household, whenever there was an event, she was in high demand. She was the best, everyone knew it – and worst of all she knew it. Seemingly thinking that because her services were in high demand that it meant she was better than the rest of the staff, which, as you can imagine, made her very unpopular.
As she thought she was the best, she acted as such, treating the staff with the same distaste that some of the nobles did. So, Maisie spent her days turning her nose up at those who were the same class as her and kissing the arses of those above her. Some were convinced that she’d lost a few marbles, others were convinced that she was sleeping with noblemen to get such high treatment. Either way, the staff felt she had no right to treat them as she did.
The real truth is actual more simple, the nobles treated her nicely and the attention all went a bit to her head – and she truly did think that because of her high demand that she should have some right to boss around other servants, she didn’t see any royalty ask for them by name. She was good and she had worked hard to be there and she deserved some respect at this point, she’ll be damned if the others make her feel guilty about it.

Percival Ford | Servant | Footman at Buckingham Palace | Fc:Enver Gjokaj
Being gay wasn’t something that Percival Ford would have asked for. Know what didn’t help the matter? Being gay and working at Buckingham Palace. Percival sees the noble men, seeming so free to do what they wanted with whoever they wanted. He’d risen in society this far – he has nieces and nephews to support because God knows that his sister can’t, he had to keep his head down and not stare at the renowned sex God Archie Hancock’s arse for too long.
He wasn’t sure what the deal with that man was – a friend of the prince, so obviously very rich. But he seemed to be so nice to the staff – offering them smiles whenever he passed through, not dismissing them like dirt, like what some of the other prince’s friends did.  Also, the man seemed to have sex with every woman that encountered him and doesn’t seem to be ashamed by the fact either. The sight of him made Percival weak at the knees and he always seemed to make a fool of himself in front of him.
Low income. Shunned Sexuality. If they found him out here, amongst the richest in the world, he’d never survive.

HRH Princess Margaret Windsor | Royalty | Princess | Fc:Vanessa Kirby
In her very own opinion, Margaret would say that between herself and her sister, she would be more suited to the crown. More lively and always having had an easier time charming people than her sister did, Margaret thought she’d be the better fit for a ruler. This didn’t mean that she didn’t love her sister, she really did love Elizabeth, but it caused a somewhat undercurrent of tension between the two since they both realised that Elizabeth would be the next queen.
Though Margaret did see the upside of not being the heir, having more freedom to do as she wished and more free time to do what she liked – with who she liked. Another upside that the princess found that she could in fact spend some time with whoever she fancied and she did just that.
Then she met Peter and her view on the world shifted, no longer was she second to somebody, she was first. And she understood love, she understood what it meant for the first time in her life to be whole. But now Peter’s gone and she’s never felt so alone or so lost in her life and all because of what her sister did.
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

Philip Mountbatten, Duke of Edinburgh|Royalty|Royal Consort|Fc:Matt Smith
After leaving the Navy, Philip never expected to fall for the heir to the throne. He’d known of her liking to him – the blushing thirteen-year-old she had been when they met, but thought nothing of it. She was just a girl then. When they encountered again, years later, he didn’t recognise her. The relationship was not an easy one, there were those who didn’t think the two should be together and normally he wouldn’t go through something like that for a woman. Elizabeth was different, he’d found someone who seemed to steady him, who seemed to be his guide post.
After her father’s death and accession to the throne, he seems to have lost his guide post. Their relationship is something strained, something he doesn’t like to like about – he no longer allows himself to reflect on their happy times in Malta, he feels those times are too far away now, something that’s too far out of reach. Something that they’ll never feel again. The only true joy he seems to find these days is when he’s playing with the children or when he’s flying in the air.
So he drinks. And he goes to his gentleman’s club and makes an arse out of himself with his friends and he stares at the beautiful women in cheap clothing that serve him drinks. He misses working with the navy, taking flying lessons in a desperate attempt to find some sort of thrill in his life. Although he’d be the last to admit it, he was suffering from a broken heart. His wife was having an affair and he knew that it would never end, it couldn’t. Her affair was with the crown, he had lost.
So he keeps drinking, and stumbling home late and doing things that he definitely shouldn’t be doing – not while he’s married to the queen of England. But he keeps doing it anyway, because the one thing the navy never taught him was to solider through a broken heart.

Queen Elizabeth II | Royalty | Monarch | Fc:Claire Foy
Elizabeth was never born to be queen.
She was born to live comfortably, to live a relatively normal life away from the media and would be able raise her children somewhere quiet with a big garden. Instead, her uncle abdicates to able to marry the woman he loved and very suddenly her father is the king and she is now heir to the throne. A life unexpected, a life unwanted.
However, she would like to say that the inheritance of the crown wasn’t entirely awful. It allowed her to meet Philip, though she was far too young for him on their first encounter. Serval chance meetings over the years allowed her to really fall in love with him, she’d fancied him right from the get-go but never did she really think the two would end up falling deeply for each other. Though she’d never admit it, a part of her had always admired what her uncle had done – given up everything for love. So, when Philip proposed and then later gave up his other titles so the two could be wed, she thought she had truly found her soulmate.
Life was never that easy.
Blissful years are spent in Malta and two beautiful children are brought into the world, her marriage is a happy one and she would never have reason to doubt her husband’s love for her. In a word, she would describe the life there as perfect, it was similar to the one she had been born for. Quiet. Loved. Happy.
Like all good things, it comes to an end. Devastated by the loss of her father, she takes the thrown. Becoming a Queen in a man’s world was by no means easy. Now her days are lonely, her husband spends his days God knows where, doing God knows what – she’s too afraid to ask. Too afraid that her doubts have truth to them. She hardly spends time with her children, her days filled with things that are deemed more important. Her relationship with her sister is strained – especially after what happened with Peter. Her life unexpected had begun. Cold. Busy. Lonely.
