went to the big fancy christmas party at my mom’s business last night and this guy there spent like five straight minutes interrogating me about “how i was born” and “if im doing the shots” and he said multiple times that i “still look like a woman to him” and eventually i had to get my sister to make something up to get me out of there. he was well-intentioned i think— he tried a couple times to draw parallels to him knowing he was gay since he was very young— but i’m just really tired of random strangers thinking they have the right to ask me questions like that. i’m proud to be openly trans and in the right contexts im more than happy to talk about my experiences but sometimes cis people seem to think that me just existing in a space is permission for them to not-so-subtly ask what kind of genitals i have.
