being an only child is like. not knowing how to make up after fights, living the reality of having temporary play-mates/people all your life, shouldering the weight of all expectations, fear of outliving your parents all by yourself, not having anybody to lean on, picking yourself up, not having someone show up for you unconditionally, fearing rejection more because there is no acceptance elsewhere, figuring out everything all by yourself because you have no one to teach you stuff, having no-one to share your hobbies with, having no cheerleaders, not knowing how to share because you only know to fill the voids in your life by being materialistic.

being a single child is living the fear of abandonment and limitless loneliness a thousand times over.

insane how love wants you to get better at making things. a loved one could say they were tired and want to sit down and I would want to learn woodwork to make them a bench, they could crave a dish and i would look up the recipe and always have the refrigerator stocked with it each time they visited.
