Just want to send love to everyone in fandom who is frustrated with the current storyline. I still believe Buddie is coming truly everything is pointing in that direction even if we get minimal movement this season.
We may be stuck with characters and storylines we don’t want for a while longer but I do believe in the long run it will work out. Try not to let the negativity in fandom get you down. Also try not to let the over zealous fan worship of certain ships and characters get to you. That’s been one of the most difficult things for me lately but I’m trying to refocus on what I love and that’s Buck and Eddie.
There’s a reason everyone talks about Buddie not just those of us in our fandom. Big time articles have been written about Buddie and Oliver is asked about Buddie in every interview now. It’s because our ship is not only one of the most enduring and amazing on 911 but people are literally drawn to the show because of Buddie. And not just because it’s too hot firefighters in love (even if they haven’t admitted it in so many words yet) but because the way they love and care for one another is inspiring and hopeful and a beautiful representation of a love we all wish we could have.
Don’t lose heart Buddie fans our ship will come out on top. Buck and Eddie have six long years of shared history. Of loving, fighting, supporting, putting their lives on the line for each other, co-parenting, calling out each others bs, seeing each others flaws and loving anyway, pushing each other to be better, working together, commiserating together, shared trauma etc. No one else Buck or Eddie get paired with could compare to that kind of history or connection. The connection that was there basically from the beginning with Buddie.
Keep showing love for Buddie on social media especially to those in our fandom making new Buddie content. We want to keep our fandom growing. Feel free to message me anytime if you need to vent. Also remember that no matter what anyone else says on here you’re allowed to feel however you do about the current storyline. ❤️

re: your post about ryliver
in short RPF fanfic is not the same as genuine speculation on someone's sexuality, mental health, relationships, etc so there isn't a need to "justify" it because it is just fiction.
now rpf in general is controversial, and opinions vary widely, between not only fandoms but individual people, so it really comes down to what you decide for yourself. the only thing you need to understand is that just bc you don't find rpf "okay" doesn't mean you should give other people shit for it !!
I appreciate your take! Like I said, I've never read any or seen a general consensus or anything on it, so thank you for taking the time to share your view on it 🫶

I saw a post the other day about someone being pissed that people were calling Eddie gay instead of bi only because they couldn't handle more than one bisexual person on a show. Now, I didn't make Eddie gay/demi, he was born that way, BUT it got me thinking, because the whole crew feels very fruity? SO, I want to get your guys' opinions on what you think the rest of the characters are. (JUST the characters. We're not speculating on the actors. We all know this.) I'm going to put mine below & I'd love to hear everyone else's thoughts :) These are by vibes only. As a definite demisexual and probable bi woman, idk how great my gaydar is, but sexuality is a spectrum & straight isn't the default, so let's go!!
Bobby - 0% fruity. That is a straight, middle aged white man (affectionate) if I've ever seen one.
Athena - Also straight.
Chim - Chim feels very straight to me, but that scene with the bachelor had me peering at him a little closer, because I've never watched the Bachelor, but it looked like Joey (I think that was the bachelor's name, right? I've never watched a single episode of that show so I have no idea) had been around before, so I couldn't tell if he was like, starstruck, or "Wow that's a pretty boy and it's making me feel things" -struck 😂
Maddie - I don't get many vibes from her either, but I also have a vague fic idea of Madney breaking up in s4/s5 and her ending up with Shannon instead, so idk, maybe she's just unlabeled but somewhere on the spectrum of queerness?
Shannon - Bi vibes
Taylor Kelly - 100% bi, I refuse to hear any other argument.
Lucy Donato - This is a pansexual woman if I've ever seen one, you cannot convince me otherwise. (Also, the most interesting AND likable of Buck's female LI's, argue with the wall. Lucy, they'll never make me hate you bby 🩷💛💙.)
Lena Bokso - Lesbian vibes, for sure. I don't think there was ANY romantic undertones with her and Eddie (Which, I'm not saying that's the only reason I think she's a lesbian. She can like men and not like Eddie. Even if she did, Eddie wasn't in a place to do anything with those feelings, but I saw a post about that pairing recently & wanted to throw my 2 cents in)
May Grant - May also gives off queer vibes, and I've seen other view her as full wlw, but I think she gives off more bi/pan vibes?
Ravi - This man is soommmeee kind of queer that I just cannot put my finger on. I've seen him HC'd as gay, pan, & ace in some way, and I can honestly rock w/ any of the 3 of them. All I know is that he is not a straight man lol.
Albert - Also unsure about him, but if someone were to tell me that he was bi, I could definitely see it. I think that's influenced by the fic that had him, Ravi & May in a throuple, which was genuinely so cute.
Ana - Dr. Flores doesn't give off queer vibes for me, but that could be bc she was criminally underdeveloped & we know practically nothing about her.
Natalia - See above ^^
Ali Martin - Same ^^ although I could see her just being queer and not being more specific than that. Maybe she's straight, who knows. I literally forgot about her until I was looking up actor/actress names 😂
M*risol - straight & homophobic lmfao
Abby - Literally could not care less about her, but I wanted to include her so I could talk about her possibly being Tommy Kinard's ex-girlfriend and her coming back to LA for whatever reason and finding her ex-boyfriends happy & having totally forgotten about her predatory ass.
Also, obviously not speculating about any of the children, bc they're still children, even if they're fictional. It's icky.
I think that's all the main/reoccurring characters that we don't already know about, let me know if I missed any.
Talk about being the gay firefighter show, how accurate lmfao.

I’m really happy with ABC as a network. It’s amazing that they have fully embraced the queer representation of the show and haven’t half ass acknowledged their existence.
They have fully embraced Bisexual Buck, with posts like this one;
Tumblr media
But they also fully embraced the already existing Lesbian couple in their posts as well;
Tumblr media
Fox always did the bare minimum, honestly less than bare minimum when acknowledging Henren as a canon lesbian couple in the show. I know many of you will agree with my sentiments that this change of networks has been a breath of fresh air. I’m hoping 911’s success with queer representation causes a bigger shift in the entire industry, where we don’t have to settle for implied queer representation. That queer stories don’t get silenced or changed to fit heteronormative expectations. Were we are queer baited a lot less.

911onabc: We are thrilled by the opportunity to tell Evan ‘Buck’ Buckley’s story and are grateful to Oliver Stark for portraying it with love and care. Discovering and expressing yourself—at any point in life—is a beautiful thing and we hope you feel loved and seen here.

Possibly(?) unpopular 9-1-1 opinion:
The Buck x Abby relationship in s1 feels incredibly forced and downright weird. The 16 year age gap is honestly the least off-putting part.
Buck CARRIES all the scenes they’re in together, I’ve seen more chemistry between two rocks. Abby’s actor was brilliant in AHS, but is downright dull in this show. The first thing I googled when they got together was “when do they break up?”

The fact is; Buddie shippers have receipts. It’s not an insane thing we made up because we can’t let men be friends, it’s hard evidence of substantial romantic coding that carries so much weight for these characters and the plot itself that the entire show wouldn’t make any fucking sense if they weren’t ending up together, they have to, or what the fuck has all this been for

Okay hear me out. It's the way Chim actually did not have to be a part of the basketball scenes in 7x04. Chim represents a platonic person in Buck's life, someone who is not the object of Buck's affection therefore safe to ask to bring him to basketball. But...why not Eddie?
Eddie is supposedly Buck's best platonic friend. If he really only wanted to get Tommy's attention he could've gone up to Eddie and been like "hey can I come to basketball with you this Thursday?" And Eddie would've been confused true, but Buck could've made up an excuse and Eddie would've believed him. Then, during the actual basketball game instead of having Buck be all up on Eddie, have Eddie be in Chim's place being confused as to why Buck is all aggressively up on TOMMY. Then, as a medic, he could've taken Chim's place to take care of Tommy. Then at the end when Buck apologizes and realizes he's attracted to Tommy, it could've been akin to a boy "pulling a girls pigtails" going too far.
The fact that the episode PURPOSELY wants its audience to be confused as to whether Buck wants Tommy or Eddie is FUCKING MASSIVE. The fact that the implication is so blatantly and explicitly there that Eddie COULD be the object of Buck's affection, but oh also maybe it could be Tommy???? Or not?? Or maybe Eddie?? Or maybe it's Tommy?? Like they didn't NEED to imply ANYTHING about Eddie. It could've totally been framed solely around Tommy.
The fact that the show put the thought explicitly in the audiences head that the person Buck wants romantically COULD be Eddie...means it's already true on some level. It's massive foreshadowing, and a huge indicator of Eddie being Buck's endgame and a large part of why this episode already made them canon to me.

We are really on the precipice of something monumental here.
I've watched a lot of slowburn romance. Scully and Mulder, Booth and Brennan, Castle and Beckett, Tony and Ziva, I could go on. I love slowburn. I love the level of emotional investment that comes from tuning in episode after episode, week after week, month after month, season after season, year after year. Watching years of buildup and pining, growth and development. It's a really special kind of storytelling that only really happens in a week-to-week cable show. There's nothing like the feeling of finally seeing them kiss, or confess, or get together after literal, actual, real world years of waiting.
I've never seen a queer version of it, though. Because queer characters are still a risk, because every show wants to establish it's queer narratives off the bat. Frankly, most queer relationships on TV are kind of insta-lovey. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing! It can be done well. And I know that for a lot of people waiting for a ship to come into fruition feels scary--what if it's baiting, what if the show gets cancelled?
I get that.
But I love this kind of thing, I live for the slowburn. For the aching, the suffering, the waiting, the drawn out tension. No matter how many times I've seen it, I eat it up everytime. And I've been desperate to see a queer version of that trope play out. To get to a place in representation where writers can take the risk of telling that kind of story, in a primetime procedural drama, without it being baiting, without it getting cancelled.
And here we are. Finally.
