I feel like the first hug Bashir ever gave Garak, Garak froze and just bluescreened for a full thirty seconds. Thankfully Bashir is too socially inept to notice that garak was experiencing both the intense relief of social contact after a lifetime of deprivation and the full body panic response of a man whos never been given affection free of strings. Garak gave him his best customer service smile and thanked him then excused himself to go breakdown alone in his shop
