And then she heard about the 79th Class’ Ultimate Fiction Editor, Y/N.

When she first introduced herself to you, she caught you reading— because of course you were

And as soon as you heard her name you wanted to get to know her. She’s a LEGEND and she’s attending the same school you are! What are the chances?

You’ve read all of her novels, and provide insightful analyses of characters and plot devices.

But you don’t hold back. There were some plot points— especially in some of her earlier works— that don’t sit right with you, and you let her know.

She hasn’t had anyone give her serious criticism like that since she was first starting out... it’s a breath of fresh air.

She really enjoys hearing what you have to say, and genuinely takes your opinions into consideration.

She actually asked YOU out first, surprising everyone she knew.

You met up for coffee at a local cafe, and when you arrived, she had a laptop in front of her. As soon as you sat down, she turned it around so the screen would face you. It was a draft of a new piece she was working on.

“I, uh, n-never show anyone w-works in progress, b-but, I trust you.”

You blush. So she does like me, you thought, relieved, because you always thought she was cute.

Since then, you’ve continued to go out on normal dates without any expectations of editing, but you become a hell of a team.

She sends drafts and you send back suggestions for corrections.

She adores your honesty, and that you don’t let your relationship get in the way of work.

She surprises you sometimes with re-enactments of romantic scenes from her drafts, wanting to know if they’d have the ‘desired effect’, or if it would ‘be realistic’.

After some time, you tell her “the reason it works is because I love you so much.”

The novel is finally ready for publication a little over a year since the two of you started dating.

The new-book-smell hits you like a ton of bricks. It’s your favorite scent, and you cherish it every time. But this time it feels different. It’s a new kind of special, because it’s something you worked on with your girlfriend.
