Everyone Behold a lengthy explanation of my widdershins witchhunt au

Imagine a universe where magic and this wizards as well as witches were regared like queer people were around that time. That's the basics of the au now for specifics!

magic is illegal everywhere and thus Mal never goes that far out of widdershins so instead of being a dou with Wolfe he actually teams up with Ben first as they are both running from the law.

Mal's been hiding near the anchor cause being near it makes it easier to pretend he isn't constantly seeing spirits and such,

Ben is waaay more cool with breaking laws and already knows Sidney in a "hey you also have magic and are being perseuted by the government lets help each other out when we get the chance" sorta way.

Lots of family angst between the Barbers cause Harry was a bounty hunter like in canon but became an illegal bounty hunter esque sorta person after realizing how awful the gvrmnt is, Cool ganma Barber is a wizard in hiding and only cool idiot granpa barber great beard dog guy, his awesome wife and kids, & surprisingly enough Florrie know at the beginning

Wolfe also stays in the military with Vox due to not having that run in with Mal, Florrie is way more on edge than in canon,

Anxiety Barber (im so sorry i love her it's just names arghhhh) & her anxiety husband aro also more adept at doing illegal stuff cause her daughter and hiding from the gvrmnt

so I've been thinking about school au a bunch lately and no I'm probably not writing the next episode anytime soon sadly but I can at least do some little doodles and think about details. Also I swear I keep changing the name of the damn school but i think I'm going for widdershins community college for sure now
