After all that, we finally opened. We gave away everything for free and worked through our processes for a week. Day one, our friend Mike was there to document the occasion, before anyone, true to a Shotzombie's form.

Most of our neighbors (above us in The Mayflower, our building) have lived in the building for over twenty years. This brother and sister are no exception. For Rob, we'll have apple turnovers, which he's been requesting for the past year. Next week, he'll have some.

What a mess. As soon as the floor was finished we covered in up in preparation for ceiling stripping. A 60-plus year-old tin ceiling with a dozen layers of paint (if not more). We are still smiling, though our eyes are red and hands are sore.
