a little piece about going into work sick and your work husband Erwin Smith noticing. i am actually recovering from being super sick, so i wrote this to channel Erwin energy for myself! part of this May Flowers event and my AoT Poetics AU.

New Beginnings

“Sure you don’t want to go home?”

You lifted your eyes from the soup on your desk. Erwin stood in the office doorway, about to leave after delivering your feel-better lunch. His pinched eyebrows gave his look of concern a seriousness you weren’t expecting.

Since waking up, you felt miserable. Stuffed nose, sore throat, downing cough drops walking to work. And it was raining, of course, a chill drizzle that seemed to change direction every few seconds. When you got to school, your nose was permanent shade of red and every inch of skin shivered. The jingle of your keys opening your office cued Erwin to poke his head out of his, commenting that you arrived later than usual. He was the last person you wanted to see, feeling like a shriveled swamp creature shrinking in front of his immaculate appearance. It was then he rushed out to get you some soup while you tried in vain to look like a professional human being.

“It’s just feeling off from the changing seasons, I’m okay.” You tried to seem like you weren’t in discomfort but it was clear you couldn’t breathe through your nose. “I have two classes to get through today. And don’t forget our committee meeting, then the philosophy guest lecture I promised Zeke to go to, and that’s not even counting the social afterwards-”

You interrupt yourself accidentally dropping your spoon into the soup, splattering liquid all over the place. An explicative slips from your mouth as you startle to your feet and frantically try to clean things.

“May I?” You didn’t notice Erwin stride over to you, hovering his hand over yours. When he receives a confused nod, he lifts yours up and into his palm. It quivers, partly because this attractive coworker is touching you in an intimate way, but mainly from the chills running through your body. “It’s room temperature in here,” after he gestures to your forehead, you let Erwin feel your temperature. “and you’re hot. Running hot, temperature-wise, that is.” He mumbles that last part out as he puts distance between you. The room feels much colder when he steps away. Erwin takes a look outside the window, and then to his watch. “I can drive you home if we leave now.”

“But- I have so much to do today!”

“I’ve taught one of your classes before and you can give me notes for the other.” His voice is both serious and soft as he reaches out to touch your shoulder. “I’d rather you rest.”

It didn’t take much more to lead you down to his car and whisk you away from work. Erwin listened to you complain about how Porco is unpredictable to teach with, keeping his focus on the road except for when he’d look over to you whenever you fell quiet. For a bit it felt like you weren’t coworkers, but something else.

As he escorts you to your apartment, you realize this is the first time Erwin has seen where you live. His eyes trail the door of your neighbor as he passes by, knowing Zeke lives there. When you step in yours, you turn to look up at him.

“Thanks for everything Erwin, I wish I could invite you in for tea or something.” You get a tingle in your stomach when we smiles.

“I’d love to, let’s make a plan for another day. And whenever it’s bad weather out, just text me and we’ll carpool to work together, okay?”

From then on, you and Erwin began to spend a lot more time together.

but you can write something very plain. 

You don’t have to write some genre-redefining masterpiece. You can write a story about two people very simply falling in love. You can just write a story about a person going to the store. You could, if you were so inclined, just re-write Star Wars but like, make all the names start with M.

Don’t let the fear of not-writing something transcendent stop you from just writing.

oof let’s see, that’s tough! there’s a part of me that wants to say Zeke, but i think the implication in ‘who would you rather date?’ is who would i pursue off the bat and that’d definitely be Reiner 😍 i think we’d have a more immediate connection. however if Zeke was actively pursuing me and Reiner was like silently pining, i’d date Zeke. but yeah i believe overall Reiner is the winner 💘

Okay, for the anon that asked why Ceci why she won't let minors follow her 18+ NSFW blog. This actually goes for any blog that has 18+ minors DNI.

To start, yeah, we know that minors of a certain age have hormones, know about sex, might even be having sex, and see suggestive stuff on TV and in movies, ads, magazines, etc. Like, yeah, you're seeing stuff on Riverdale or whatever show is popular among teens now. However, knowing about and having sex (hopefully with someone very close in age to you and hopefully you're being safe, as well. Use a condom and the pill or an IUD. Basically, use two kinds of birth control) and seeing suggestive things on TV - Riverdale/teen shows are filming and showing porn - is very different from reading or watching porn and being in an online 18+ community where the adults don't want minors on their blogs.

And, yeah, we know you're gonna find and consume the content - we can't really stop that but that's why we tag things appropriately and keep them out of main tags (at least the good/responsible blogs/blogs that know to keep smut out of the haikyuu x reader tag, etc. do). But we don't want you to interact with it. It's not just about your safety and comfort. It's about ours, too.

If you get busted interacting with an adult on a nsfw blog about explicit nsfw topics, you're not the one that is going to face serious legal trouble. You're not the one that is going to face the serious, long term consequences.

We could face fines, jail time, being labeled as a pedophile, have to register on a sex offender list. That can make us lose our job or not get jobs. And if the blog you follow has kids? They can lose their kids because minors ignored the biggest rule of nsfw blogs - 18+ minors DNI. That means don't follow, don't send asks, don't like, don't reblog. Just stay away.

The rules of the blog owner aren't just about your safety and comfort. It's about theirs, too, and their safety and comfort on their blog matters, too, and matters more than if you feel comfortable seeing and interacting with their content. So respect their rules. Wait until you're 18. This also goes if you, a minor, wants to write smut. We can't stop you. But, please, have your age in your bio if you're going to write or follow NSFW blogs. If you don't want to share your exact age for your safety, that's fine. You can put I'm a minor or I'm 16 - 17. You don't have to share your exact age if you're uncomfortable with it but you do need to specify if you're a minor or not. For instance, it can be left at mid-teens. Or late-30s.

You are in control of your internet experience. That's why we have rules like 18+ minors DNI and try our best to tag nsfw things properly and why we block minors/people who don't respect us and our rules. We do the proper tags so you can avoid them or block them but do us a favor and respect blogs that have "minors DNI" in their bio and rules. Don't follow. Don't like. Don't reblog. Don't send asks. Don't interact.

Even if you think you're mature enough for it as a minor, if you disregard/ignore/don't follow the rules, you're not actually mature enough for the 18+ community simply because you're only thinking about yourself and your comfort, and not the person behind the blog and their safety and comfort.

Like I’ve said before many times, my main blog is and will always be SFW and I love interacting with you guys here. Even if I am on my hiatus now, I will continue interacting with people on here too so feel free to come talk to me abt your day!

But my side is for me and my more mature thoughts and feelings and I shouldnt have to feel uncomfortable or worry about minors accessing it. Thank you guys for understanding.
