So we've all seen the vampire post that extrapolates that, like mosquitos, the females drink blood and the males drink tree sap right? What if a vampire turns out to be trans? Do they find out they're trans by how little they like their food of choice?

I'm going to draw a literary comparison to the children's book Stellaluna in which the baby bat Stellaluna is separated from her mother in an attack and is raised by a momma bird on bugs when she is a fruit bat. Once she makes it to her family again and her mother takes her to eat fruit, she's overjoyed because she was raised to be a bird, and told all her bat behaviors were unbecoming of a bird. Now she no longer has to act like a bird, she can be herself but she keeps ties to her bird siblings and tries to introduce them to bat ways and finds out they can't be bats any more than she can be a bird.

Now for our purposes, if a vampire is raised strictly female or male and expected to act accordingly, do they have a similar experience upon finding family amongst the gender they're supposed to be? Do transfem vamps meet up with other female vamps at queer vampire blood bars? Do transmasc vamps do the same with tree sap bars? Do nonbinary and genderqueer vamps just make delicious cocktails out of saps and different bloods/types? Do they find out they can't be the gender they were assigned by the behaviors they naturally display which are considered "unbecoming" of vampires of their gender?

How does one go about submitting a chapter for the “Power of the Crown” collection? I am fairly new to ao3 as a writer, and have only one ongoing fic to my name, and I have never collaborated on a fandom project or anything. I’m also not good with homework or deadlines… But I love Raphael and I want to write at least one chapter of this monstrous endeavor!

Hey, so all you’re gonna do is click “post to collection” and you should be able to! You can also click “join” so you have the collection on your ao3 account so you don’t have to do any searching. The minimum is 1k for fiction pieces, 500 for poetry, and just a cleaned up sketch for art so I do think it’s possible if you want to make the deadline! Yay!
