yea. .I try not to delve into doubles often (doubles or triples. .of any style). .but @ballastpointbrewing has yet to let me down. .right?. .plus who doesn't like watermelon? .. .well. .we had a good run up until that pineapple sculpin. XD. .pours copper with 1.5" of white head. .now, new belgium's heavy melon had a nice watermelon nose to it. .this one was overbearingly sweet like a jolly rancher (insert ptsd flashback to that time I had a four loko watermelon. .I didn't know any better and I regret that decision every day). .which, believe it or not, betrays the palate fairly heavily. .the nose locks your brain to thinking you're having something artificially flavored, and once you take that sip. it's like e.honda hundred hand slapping that notion out of your mind forever. .until you get another whiff. lol. .very dry, crackery up front with more of a cucumber note than watermelon on the finish. (if you vape and are familiar with Testlab9/Fluids by Intellect's En Plein Air. .this is EXACTLY what I mean by that. .minus the basil. lol). .the pine & resin notes stick with you for a while, but it's not unpleasant. .it's ok at best. not as rough as other DIPAs I've had. and it's surprisingly drinkable at 10%. but, it still ranks last on my list of BP beers. 2nd to last on watermelon brews. . ..when you let a food tv talk show influence your dinner choices and your brain decides to flip twelve scripts, experiment with something. ."different", but still keep it simple. .it never ends well. lol. .have to admit, when every source states they've made mac & cheese quesadillas in the microwave, follow suit. .cause this was probably the most dangerous venture I've tried thus far. .and if having a hot pan spit and hiss at you wasn't bad enough. .adding a parmesan crust to it will definitely up the ante.
