The Tomb of Thutmose II
By Stone_block_with_relief_at_Karnak_Temple.jpg: Wmpearlderivative work: JMCC1 - This file was derived from: Stone block with relief at Karnak Temple.jpg:, CC0, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=26473318
Thutmose II, husband and half-brother of Hatsepsut, was overshadowed by his father, Thutmose I, wife, and son, Thutmose III, in Egyptian history and left little behind little in the way of monuments. The length of his reign is also uncertain, either being 13 years (from 1493-1479 BCE) or 3 years (from 1482-1479 BCE), and he died before the age of 30. There is some evidence that he was a minor when he ascended to the throne, that being that his generals carried out campaigns in the Levant and Nubia to put down rebellions, as well as being called a 'hawk in the nest' when he assumed the throne by Ineni, an ancient Egyptian architect and government official who was rather old when Thutmose II began his reign. That Thutmose II had two children, many experts lean toward the longer length reign. The lack of inscriptions and monuments, though, speak to a shorter reign.

Regardless of the length of his reign, his mummy was found along with several other pharaohs of the 18th and 19th dynasties in 1881. It also showed evidence of being rewrapped during the 21st dynasty. However, where his tomb was remained a mystery until recently. It was thought that he had been originally buried in a tomb known as KV42, but it didn't show evidence of being used. In 2022, a new location was proposed based on the discovery of a chest with his cartouche on it. A new tomb was found in the Western Wadis, also known as the Valley of the Queens, that was designated Wadi C-4. It was filled with rubble, likely from flash floods, partially as a result of being at the base of two water falls. It took until 2025 for the tomb to be Thutmose II. The floods caused Thutmose II's mummy to be moved to where it was found.

Feeling some sort of something watching Young David Tennant and seeing how his face moves & noticing his skin creasing in the places where he'll have more permanent wrinkles later. Unsure what I'm experiencing right now but I noticed it. Something timey wimey happening to me
