Flesh Bag, 2024.
This year, I began working with Hide Glue, which is made from collagen collected from rabbit skin. The genetic disorder I have, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome is due to a lack of collagen in my body. In a way, I felt something Ironic about working with it, and it's why I became so invested in the material.. This "flesh" is made from canvas soaked with a mixture of pigment, hide glue and kaolin clay. The handle is from beads exclusively taken from bracelets and necklaces I have worn on my body before. After the bag was created, it was wrapped in cloth and left in the rain for several days to soften before being air dried.

over a year ago, a friend gave me a really nice sketchbook. i am only just now starting to use it because (1) i still had another to finish, but mainly (2) nice things intimiate me and are no place for my scribbles and nonsense.
put nonsense in your nice things. do nonsense with your nice things. it's more fun that way.
