seven sentence sunday
thanks @henrygrass @carlossreaders @ladyknight1512 !!
“I’m just surprised, is all. You spent a whole day shopping with Marjan and didn’t come home with a single thing.”
TK frowns. “We were shopping for party decorations. What was I supposed to buy?”
“Nothing,” Carlos murmurs when it’s clear they’re not on the same page about it, like he just wants to move on and get to the part of the night where TK is actually sitting by him. “Come over here.”
But TK’s not there yet because Carlos is unintentionally poking at the sore spot, the exact reason why he didn’t buy anything today. Sure, he saw things he liked. Maybe if things were different, he would’ve gotten them, but he doesn’t want to be shopping with his friends, blowing all of Carlos' money while he’s at work earning it. That doesn’t feel fair. “I’m not like… a shopaholic,” he defends, and Carlos looks at him funnily.
“I didn’t say you were.”
“Okay,” TK states firmly, standing his ground.
“Okay,” Carlos repeats. “Now get over here.”

Jury duty AU
1. TK and Carlos are selected for the same murder trial. TK is glad. He saw Carlos during the first round of selection and secretly hoped he'd make it do the end.
2. They spend their breaks eating together and their off time spending time, causing them to become an inseparable pair
3. Due to the severity of the case, they are put up in a hotel. TK and Carlos have neighboring rooms, but after awhile, no one is staying in TK's
4. By the time it comes to make the verdict, TK and Carlos find they have differing opinions on whether the man is innocent or guilty. it drives a wedge between them that feels irreparable.
5. The case closes and they return to the lives without saying goodbye, until they both suck up their pride and try to win the other back at the same time
#omg this sounds just like the book The Body In Question#except in the book tk and alex are still married 😱🫢#ugh i should reread…. i’ve been in a Slump

forgot to give my thoughts on episodes two and three of the waterfront. uhhhh shawn is baby shaped (also the only character consistently making us laugh? rafael in his comic relief era?) and i just know his credulous and bumbling nature will lead him into the clutches of evildoers who wish to exploit him. SAD!! but i like to see rafael with the cow eyes in full effect so i’m not complaining.
#also i’m obsessed with the fact that he’s gay but in an off-screen relationship so DON’T expect him to do anything gay or take his shirt of#the waterfront spoilers

Clone AU for Tarlos.
1. Carlos has been working at a biomedical engineering company for years when he discovers they do more than making artificial organs. Carlos feels it’s his moral and ethical responsibility to expose the unsafe experiences that have been happening
2. The day Carlos tries to leave his office with the files of data, he’s stopped in the lobby by the chief of operations. She leads him to her office and Carlos knows before he gets there that he’s been caught
3. What he’s not expecting is to see the results of their experiments in front of him, done on the man he loves. With two TKs seated in front of him, Carlos is told to pick which one lives.
4. They both plead with wide eyes behind the gag. Carlos should know. Carlos should know which one is his husband, his soulmate. And he does.
5. He asks questions and fuck, the clone is good. But the clone doesn’t know everything. The clone—both clones—doesn’t know that Carlos was working on his own experiments—doing it the right way—and the real TK isn’t even in this room. He’s tucked away in a safe house that Carlos sent him to as soon as he began his plan to take down the company, just in time for him to build his own

All good things must come to an end. It's a bitter truth few know better than the people in this room. But I've learned another truth in my life: Sometimes, something good must end so that something great can begin. And I believe that's about to happen here as I swear in your new captain. Judson Ryder. Would you raise your right hand? Do you swear to support the Constitution of the United States and the great state of Texas? I do. Do you swear to faithfully discharge the duties of the Austin Fire Department according to the best of your abilities? I will. Then congratulations, Captain Judd Ryder of the 126!
