i’m just having a bit of a rough time in my life rn. It took me away from writing and this story hits very close to home for me so i want to do it right.

i’ve had the most backward year of my life and it’s hard to give time to sitting down and writing like i did before. I seriously miss the days i could sit for 5-6 days and bang out a 20k word chapter. But definitely not bored of tlal it’s on my mind all the time and all i think abt when im busy is how badly i want to write or revisit eren and y/n’s story :(

i’d love to give tips!! um, idk where to start tho i should start a little writing workshop or something.

Anyway, some things off the top of my head i’d say are to not just TELL the story. When you write a scene, don’t tell the reader what’s happening. Let them feel and make their own guesses, it keeps them on edge. SHOW not tell. Incorporate various senses here and there such as sight, touch, hearing, taste, smell.

Bring feeling and emotion into even small moments but don’t overdo it.

for example, this is boring:

“She went downstairs and opened the front door, it was raining. She needed to leave, so she toughened up and walked through it.”

instead, make it a little whimsical, like this:

“While she descends the stairs, she can hear the harsh pattering of rain against the raspberry stained glass. Heart hammering against her ribs, she sucks in a breath while pulling the door open and breaking into a run.”

There’s a sense of urgency in the second one that we can sense off the character and we ourselves feel as the reader that we are in the scene even as a fly on the wall.

The case of show not tell is displayed here and we see a difference in the two examples. Both were kept to two sentences and while the first is a little more direct in telling us the motive, the second one sets the scene and mood better and we aren’t told what she “knows” because we feel it from her actions.

This was a little too long lmao but as u can see i’m very passionate about writing and love talking abt it 🙂‍↔️ Hope this helps!!!

grammatically i use it all the time because when i write i try to read aloud and accentuate the tone/mood of the passage.

Would you ever do another eren fic or a tlal sequel

no, as much as i’d love to, i wouldn’t. Once tlal is over, there will be an epilogue but their story would end there.

i want to move on with my writing and venture beyond the realm of ff so once i finish tlal i think i may quit writing online altogether. I did plan on writing a gojo fic but no promises!

Do you think there are any aot characters that weren’t important to the storyline? And vice versa do you think there were some minor characters that ended up being very impactful?

i actually don’t think there was a single irrelevant character! i think each character was there to serve a purpose whether it was for comedic relief during the war or to progress the story. Even passersby served a great importance. For example Ramzi, he didn’t contribute much to the storyline per se, eren saved him and ended up killing him anyway. In a way it reflects how cruel circumstances can be and how that child died not knowing his savior was his killer too. and it shows a lot about real world instances too! You can think u know someone’s heart and be affected by their actions without u even knowing. So i think for the plot to progress there has to be an emotional element to it and each character was there to serve either action wise or emotion wise.

How many hours do you think eren spends on grow a garden

eren slacks on grow a garden. he doesn’t even like playing, it bores him. Y/n likes to play to he plays with her but he is so lost so y/n runs over gifting stuff from her garden to him so he can have enough money for his seeds (what an amazing gf) i’d say she spends like 3 hours a day every couple of days and eren spends maybe like 1 hour before he gets bored and he plays some other game, while she plays.
