Hi, I’m new to the fan mail scene. I was wondering if actors enjoyed receiving playbills from other productions of their shows. For example, I was in a production of Newsies and wanted to share my playbill from that show with som of the original cast. Is this an ok thing to d? I also love doing art and often make fan art that i would love to share. What would best way to send some of my favorite stars artwork I’ve made? Look forward to your response.

HEY! so playbills from other productions i’ve never sent, but i think that would be very sweet and nice to see so i would say go ahead! i’ve sent fan art before and usually i’ll just send the letter with the art in a bigger envelope so i don’t have to fold anything but if you don’t mind folding your art then any size works! i’m sure whoever you send mail to will love it!!

of course! just the basics:

SEND:

• a nice letter telling him why you love him and such, don’t come across like you only want a playbill

• a self addressed stamped envelope so that he can respond easily (make sure it’s big enough for a playbill) and put the theatre address as the return address

• and make sure when you address the letter on the front, write this:

and add your address as the return address

Hi! I don't know if this is a dumb question, but can you still write fanmail to an OBC actor who's left a show? I was thinking about writing to an actor who was part of an OBC but has left the show, but the only way I can find to write to them was through the stage-door address. Do you happen to know if the letters still get forwarded on to them?

hey! sorry this is so late, i’m so bad with checking my asks. So, yes it is possible to write an actor that has left a certain show. I would look on FanMail.biz and if they have an address on there, then definitely send them something. I’ve had success with Lin Manuel Miranda, Andy Mientus and Stephanie J. Block from their addresses on that website. One last thing, actors don’t check their mail from these addresses as frequently so don’t be discouraged if you don’t here back right away. 💖💖💖

I've never sent any fanmail before, are there any major dos and don'ts with writing letters? Also, do you who sends playbills, I know some shows won't so just wanting to know who will and who won't. Also I'm just kind of clueless on the matter and want some tips haha!!

Thank you for asking! A major do is to make your letters genuine and don’t come across as rude or just asking for a playbill. also always make sure so send your letters with a self addressed stamped envelope so that the actor or stage manager has a way to send the playbill back. pretty much every show will write back, just some require donations. I don’t know all of them but off the top of my head, Once on this Island, Dear Evan Hansen, and Waitress ask for donations! please please dm me if you have any more questions!!! 💓💓💓💓

Hi there! I had a question about sending fan mail! I wanted to send fan mail to the original broad way cast (mike faist, Ben platt, Laura Dreyfuss, and will Roland) but I don't know how to find the mailing address! I found one website but I'm not sure if it's right, please help?

Well, as soon as a cast member leaves a broadway show it becomes harder to write to them. But i’ve had success writing to people with addresses found on websites such as fanmail.biz, so i would give it a try!

What are the addresses for Les Mis, Wicked, Hamilton, DEH, Mean Girls, and Lion King? And do you have to give donations to any of them to get a signed playbill?

DEH asks 75 dollars for a playbill and Hamilton will not send out playbills at all even with a donation. All the addresses are on google but, Wicked uses a special address which is as follows:Wicked LLC 321 W. 44th Street, Suite #801New York, New York 10036also when formatting an address I would put:[name of show/ actor] [full address][c/o: name of show] message me if you need anything else!!
