Happy (almost) new year ya'll. 2019 hit me hard and good; last 2 quarters were a total 180 of the first two. Started the year giddy with new travel plans ✈️ and career opportunities then ended up wiser as a woman, a wedding organizer for a week (LOL), and a mother 🤰.
As I look back, 2019 taught me the art of compromise, made me love better, and let me embrace the fear and wonders of growing a child inside me. I laughed the hardest, cried the most, and have been scared shitless sooooooo many times I have lost count already 😂 Still cannot comprehend though how I can feel so much love for someone I haven't met yet.😍
2019, you've been WONDERFUL!!
Lord, I cannot thank You enough for all the blessings you have bestowed upon me and my family fot this year. I am ending this year with a heart full of gratitude and starting a new year with a heart full of excitement as I build a family of my own. May Your grace continue to guide me as I move forward with ~*life*~ ❤️

Volunteer: Play and Catch Up
One of the projects of PAC (Progressive Assistance of Canada) is the Play And Catch-up (PCU) program every Sunday. This program is designed for the group of learners that needs literacy enhancement the most. They come from different grade levels but they are homogenized by common limitations as identified during the diagnostic examination. This June 16, 2019, Samahan Kabataang Bolutaryo ng Pilipinas, Mga Munting Hiling Foundation Inc., and Meraquay Home partnered with PAC for a one day full of fun and activities. For more information you contact 0915-781-0343.

Kota Kinabalu Itinerary and Travel tips
I always believe ASEAN countries are #travelgoals because of our rich culture and heritage and stunning places. It was years ago when I first set my foot in the Land of Indigenous Malay, I was only able to see little of its beauty; just the capital Kuala Lumpur. Knowing that Malaysia still has a lot of things to offer, I vowed to come back and explore Penang and Kota Kinabalu. Only after 5 years I was able to fulfill half of this promise. And I am so glad that I did!
Primary challenge I experienced when planning this trip was: only few write about their travel in KK. Hence, you only know so little when you arrive (which sucks!). So… I’m sharing our itinerary for this trip and some travel tips.
Travel tips:
o   KK city is very small. You can explore it in 2 full days. But if you don’t want to stress yourself that much, go for 4-5 days holiday.
o   KK is still a developing country, so their plastic usage is at it’s peak. Please bring your own mug/bottle water and bamboo/metal straws. Vendors love to put everything you buy in a plastic bag, if you have backpack or hand bag, do not ask for plastic bags and use your own!
o   Most of the budget hotels are in the city center and walking distance to some of the tourist attractions. However, city center is also where all the hustle and bustle can be found. So, if you want to have a quiet and good night sleep, find a hotel that is quite distant from this. We were supposed to stay at Le Meridien because of my SPG membership but I am glad we didn’t because 1. It is expensive and 2. The location is right in front of the market. Like seriously – a market place where all the vendors, taxi, ukay ukay, tambays, etc are! Glad we stayed at ASIANA Hotel (Sembulan area).
o   Do not worry about public transport. Myfriend! GRAB got you! In our (almost) 5 day stay, we spent 150 RM in total. (Mind you, I hate walking!)
o   It is better to avail travel tours (we use KKday) for convenience. The price is just 100 (or less) RM difference. This is excellent idea when you want to do island hopping, most of the people we saw doing DIY need to wait for some time for their boats to arrive in the island. Some are not even sure if there are still boat available. If you are part of a tour package, everything is arranged, and you get to leave first.
o   Mobile data connection is super-fast in KK!!!!  Even better than Athens, Greece! Don’t miss the opportunity to share your travel on social media. Buy your simcard online and pick it up in the airport. (Cost: 252ph – good for 7days, unlimited data)
o   The best place to buy pasalubong is at Filipino Market. You will see the SRP displayed in the product but still ask what is the last price (Divisoria feel ganyan!), they tend to lower down the price in half!
o   Better pack some snacks when you are going for island hopping. Price at the islands are VERY EXPENSIVE. Coconut costs 16RM but in the city it’s just 5RM. Gelato costs 45 RM!
o   Ladies are required to wear the city mosque prepared dress (for a price!) 5RM/10RM
o   There are Korean BBQ restaurants available. They are not cheap. =)
o   Gaya Street is where all the best places to eat are located.
o   You have to pay 5RM per cameraphone/camera at the Canopy Walk if you want to take pictures. This is good business!!! HAHAHA!
o   Here’s the Masjid Bandaraya Kota Kinabalu visiting hours. You’re welcome!

8 Passport Stamps in a Single Journey Kota Kinabalu to Brunei (or vice versa)
For travel enthusiasts such as myself, passport stamps are precious as free meal. It is not just about a statement that I went out of the country, but it also signifies travel memories from new places and new-found friends.
This is why I felt overly excited to know that it is possible to obtain 8 passport stamps in a single journey from Kota Kinabalu to Brunei by bus. The only bus catering this route is Sipitang Express that leaves 8’oclock in the morning and supposed to reach its destination around 4 or 5pm. Ticketing is also convenient since you can also buy it online.
Why 8 stamps?
The simple answer is because going by land from Kota Kinabalu to Brunei (or vice versa) involves going in and out of two country borders (Malaysia and Brunei).
Is the bus trip worth it?
Depends on the time you have for your entire travel. On our case, we did a lot 1 day for the bus travel when booking our flights but we later on chose to fly by plane because we got a good deal with AIRASIA – we are supposed to pay 27$ each for the bus ride while I got our plane ticket for 15$ each. If you have the luxury of time and a sucker for land travel, taking the bus is definitely a good idea. Plus the passport stamps, of course! 😊

This year, a lot of doors opened bringing abundant blessings to myself and to my family. It was a year of self retribution and finally enjoying the things I know I fully deserved.
Twenty years from now, I know I will look back to this year with a heart full of gratitude and pride. 2018 is when I got to buy my own house (damn! That sounds sooo good!), paid all my (and family’s) debt, started a thriving savings account, got my driving license (hahahah) and finally tried solo travelling not in just one country but 3! 😂
A hell of a year full of blessings and learnings. Thank you, 2018! You’ve been amazing!!!!! thank u, next 🤘🏼

Roel, thank you for teaching me to see the good in others and focus on what matters most - family, friends and us. For always being patient with my never ending mood swings and anxiety. God is truly an all-knowing God as he has given you a big heart because He knows you need to fit the big me in it. 😜 (thats why hindi ako magdadiet char!) I may not always express my gratitude and love, but please know you will always be the best person in my sea of people. #22 (at Kayangan Lake)

Located in Cambodia's capital, Central Market or Psah Thom Thmey used to be the biggest market in Asia(1937). Now, it continues to operate as a market and considered as one of the two primary souvenir stops for #phnompenh #streetphotography
