A few years ago I learned about the cerulean warbler which caused me to learn about bird safe coffee, I found Dean's Beans, and they grow a shade coffee in the winter range of this cute little bird, so it's the only coffee I buy anymore. I love this little blue thang and I hope to see it on the river one day, and I have no idea if the bird is found on any of the coffee farms in South America, but I like to imagine it is, and that it comes home to the mountains for the summer.

Elfin-woods Warbler (Setophaga angelae)

IUCN Rating: Endangered

Range: Puerto Rico, possibly just El Yunque Forest in the east and Maricao Forest in the west.

Habitat: In El Yunque, they prefer the elfin cloud forest, where vegetation growth is stunted; they have also been found in the Palo Colorado forest at lower elevations. In Maricao, they prefer Podocarpus, a type of evergreen.

Cerulean Warbler (Setophaga cerulea)

IUCN Rating: Near Threatened

Range: breeds from the Midwest to New Jersey, mostly concentrated within West Virginia and the other Appalachan states around it. Overwinters in the northern Andes, from Venezuela to Peru.

Habitat: mature forests and large, tall broad-leaf trees, with a seeming preference for areas with canopy gaps, both in the breeding and overwintering range.

A tricolored bat. I almost ran away because RABIES but this little one was snoozing, I guess

A blooming fringe tree. In fact, it's the only one I have ever seen
