Kulturang Pilipino: Mga kultura at tradisyon ng mga Pilipino

Nabuo ang kultura at tradisyon ng Pilipinas dahil sa mga pinaghalong impluwensiya ng mga katutubong tradisyon at mga kultura ng mga unang mangangalakal at mananakop nito. Ang kulturang ito ang sumasalamin at nakadadagdag ng ganda sa bansang Pilipinas. At dahil rin dito kilala ang Pilipinas sa mga natatanging kultura at tradisyon.

Pista

Ang pista ay isa sa mga malalaking pagdiriwang na ginugunita bawat taon sa iba’t ibang dako ng Pilipinas. Tampok dito, saan mang lugar sa kapuluan, ang mga makukulay na parada, mga katutubong seremonya, sayawan, paligsahan, at masasaganang handaan. Ang panahon ng kapistahan ay isa rin sa mga pinaka-inaabangang pagdiriwang na patuloy na dinarayo ng mga turista taun-taon.
Senakulo

​Ang Senakulo ay tradisyonal na pagsasadula ng mga pangyayari hinggil sa mga dinanas ni Hesukristo bago at pagkaraang ipako siya sa krus. Hango ang nasabing tradisyon sa Bibliya at iba pang tekstong apokripa. Kadalasang ginaganap ito sa lansangan o kaya'y sa bakuran ng simbahan. Ang magkakaibigan, magkakamag-anak, at magkakababayan ay magkikita-kita upang panoorin at palakasin ang loob ng mga tauhan sa dula.
Simbang Gabi

​Ang Simbang Gabi ay isa sa mga pinakamatagal at pina-popular na kaugalian ng mga Pilipino tuwing Kapaskuhan. Ito ay kilala din sa tawag na Misa de Gallo na ang ibig sabihin ay "Mass of the Rooster" o Misa ng Tandang. Ang tradisyon na ito ay mahalaga sa bawat Pilipino sapagkat ito ay simbolo ng pagdating ni Hesucristo. Ang Simbang Gabi ay serye ng siyam na araw na nobena para kay Birheng Maria na nag-uumpisa tuwing Disyembre 16 at nagtatapos sa Disyembre 24.
Bayanihan

Ang Bayanihan ay ang sama-samang pagtutulungan ng mga magkakapitbahay o mga magkakabaranggay sa pagbuhat at karaniwang paglipat ng isang bahay, na noon ay kubo na gawa sa nipa at iba pang magagaan na materyales, ng kanilang kasamahan patungo sa isang bagong pwesto. Sinasalamin ng tradisyong ito ang pagkakabuklod-buklod at mapayapang pagsasama at sistema ng tulungan sa isang pamayanan.
Flores de Mayo

Ang Flores de Mayo ay ang pista ng bulaklak na ipinagdiriwang ng mga Filipino sa buong buwan ng mayo bilang pagbibigay parangal kay Birheng Maria. Bawat isang araw sa buong buwan ng Mayo ay naghahandog ng bulaklak kay Maria para sa kaniyang taglay na huwarang kalinisan at kabutihan.
Tinikling

Ang tinikling ay isa sa pinakakilalang katutubong sayaw ng Filipinas. Nagmula ang sayaw sa Leyte. Ang maingat na pag-iwas ng babae’t lalaking mananayaw sa nagpipingkiang kawayan ay halaw sa masigla ngunit mahinhing pag-iwas ng ibong tikling sa patibong na inilalatag ng mga magsasaka sa kanilang palayan.
Barong Tagalog at Baro't Saya

Ang Barong Tagalog ay isang binurdahang pantaas na baro at kinikilalang pambansang kasuotang panlalaki sa Pilipinas. Unang tinawag na baro ng Tagalog, ang kasuotang ito ay may apat na siglo na ring ginagamit sa bansa at patuloy na pinapaganda upang masabayan ang pagbabago ng lipunan. Kabilang ito sa mga popular na kasuotan para sa mga mahahalagang pagdiriwang at kasiyahan sa Pilipinas, gaya ng kasal, mga sagala, maging sa burol at paglilibing.
Ang Baro't Saya naman ay ang pambansang kasuotang pambabae ng Pilipinas na binubuo ng manipis at binurdahang pang-itaas, at palda o saya na makulay at kadalasang guhitan. Gamit ang bakya bilang sapin sa paa, ang mga kababaihang nagsusuot nito ay may hawak ding abaniko upang gawing pantakip sa kanilang mukha o kaya'y sa kanilang dibdib. Ang pagsusuot nito ay alinsunod sa utos ng mga Espanyol na takpan at damitan ang hubad na katawan ng mga katutubo, lalo na ng mga kababaihan, sa kanilang pagdaong sa bansa.

Most people spend their time on social media, especially during this time of pandemic that affected the world. Many people use social media in alleviating their anxiety through TikTok, Facbook and many other social media platform. Some people are on social media during their free time or they just have nothing to do. And during this time of pandemic, social media play huge role on providing information about the virus, provide the situations of many countries affected by the Covid-19. Not only information was given but also many kinds of act that help people affected by the virus.
How Social Media Help Families

The impact of the coronavirus has extended far beyond those who have become infected. With a staggering number of people in quarantine and more becoming sick, needs quickly mount. Everything from basics, like food to emergency financial assistance to pay for things like rent is urgently needed as people experience lost wages due to illness or quarantine restrictions. For those who are already sick, paying medical bills has become an additional burden. 
As such, with the use of social media, many people who want to help and can help started a fundraiser to provide a relief and response to the victims of the Covid-19 pandemic. Social media made it possible to provide a way for the people to help each other and connect each other that made this fundraiser possible in this pandemic. With an easy transactions with the help of the technology we have now and the information being conveyed fast all throughout the Philippines, gave meaningful and life changing donations that helped tons of families in need. 
The Frontliners

In this time of pandemic, people risk their lives fighting every day and night to save affected patients of Covid-19 virus. These healthcare professionals, no doubt, are the modern-day heroes we need to celebrate and support. And through social media, a lot of people learned about the situation of the frontliners are currently in, getting people motivated to also help. With social media, the information that are being shown to people made them aware of the risks that the frontliners facing everyday just to save people affected of the virus. Extend monetary contributions or provide PPE donations were given to help them fight the Covid-19 and also provide support for their families. Support campaigns and echo the call for better pay through social media were made and raise awareness on the issue by calling out for others to join the plea.
Government

With social media, the government use it to spread and provide information faster through social media platforms, television, radios and internet. It allows them to respond and spread awareness to the people. It allows them to know the updates of the current happenings and how they can prevent the coronavirus to stop spreading.
Past and Present

With the advancement of technology, delivering and sharing of information is more easy compared to the past where is only provided by T.V., radios and newspaper. Now, there is already social media that contains different kinds of information about the news of what is happening inside and outside of our country, news about the celebrity and many more. 
It is known that news coverage can only be provided through a scheduled time in a given day using television and radio daily along with newspapers that can be obtained by going and buying it outside that a few taps from the screen of a smartphone can be made possible. Although, TVs and radios are still helpful to us and we still use it for gathering information but with the present technology, almost all people spend most of their time on social media than watching TV and listening to radios. People find it more interesting to gather information on social media than on TVs and radios which have limited information and only provide news in a scheduled time.

5 Good Eating Habits to Achieve Your Health Goals
Most of the time, health goals relate to our eating habits. When it comes to health, we often have fitness and food goals like losing weight, exercising regularly, eating healthier or making better food choices. Losing weight could take months. Exercising regularly could take years while eating healthier and making better food choices are hard to measure.
 Before we can achieve these goals, we may feel discouraged and give up because of the long process to show some result. To continue, we can break down these health goals into smaller step by step process that are easier to measure and track weekly or monthly so that we can see our progress and feel motivated.
 For instance, we could set a smaller goal to develop a healthy eating habit such as drinking water instead of sweetened drinks during lunch.
 Here are 5 good eating habits which will definitely help us to achieve our food goals.
#1 Choose Water

Set a goal to drink water instead of sugar sweetened drinks. To make this more measurable, write down how often you will make this choice e.g. 5 times a week. Don’t drink to much water because it can cause damage to our health.
#2 Eat Slowly and Mindfully

It takes about 20 minutes for your brain to send out signals that you are full. Eat slowly, take the extra time to pay attention to what we are eating and how much we are eating. To make this more measurable, write down how often you will make an effort to take at least a half hour to finish your meal.
#3 Stick to One Serving

For those of us who love having seconds, eating one serving will help us keep our calorie intake in check. Serving size is a factor that can affect your health. Eating large servings or portions can lead to weight gain. The larger your portions are, the more calories you eat. Challenge yourself to stick to one serving and also standard portion sizes.
#4 Eat Fruit and Vegetables

Set a goal to fill half your plate with fruit and vegetables at every meal. Fruit and vegetables are naturally low in saturated and trans fat, and rich in dietary fiber, vitamins and minerals. Or simply set a goal to use My Healthy Plate for all meals.
#5 Swop to Whole grains

Eating wholegrain foods such as brown rice, wholemeal bread and rolled oats can help reduce the risk of developing heart disease and diabetes. They can also help with weight management because they keep you feeling full longer and reduce the need for snacking. Set a goal to ask for brown rice and make it measurable e.g. ask for brown rice at least 3 times a week at lunch.
These 5 good eating habits is a good start on developing your health goals. Be patient, when we slip up, rather than give up, we should persevere. These changes, no matter how small, make a big difference to our health.
