a snow story.
Your recent snow adventures has me reminiscing about one of my favorite (also one my earliest) memories of snow. When I was younger and still living in the Bay Area, my family would take trips up to Lake Tahoe / Reno. Quite often too. Reno was the closest place to us that had snow. The trip took 4 hours (there and back, each). We would spend a couple of days (maybe 2-4) up there. Hitting as many snow spots and going to Circus Circus in Reno. Their Circus Circus is way better in my opinion. But maybe Iām biased. I havenāt traveled back to Reno to really compare, now that Iām older. I digress. But yeah about the snow, Iām not sure if this was our first trip or not (probably not) but itās the one I remember the most. I know there are pictures of this day but I think thereās also a video of what happened. It was nothing crazy but one day we found a pretty nice bunny slope where most of the kids were. I remember it was just off to the side of the main slope where everyone was snowboarding and what not. We had 3 sleds. Two circle ones and one long one that could fit at least two people. (we still have those sleds actually)Ā
A side-note memory: I remember building this crazy snow maze with all my siblings and all the kids there. If you every watched the movie Holes, the scene where the whole entire camp was digging one big trench/maze - thatās what it felt like.Ā
But continuing on, we had 3 sleds. After sledding for quite some time - me, my brother Errol, my older sister Jenna and our auntie Shae (whoās the same age as my sister Jenna) decided to do one last run of our sledsā¦TOGETHER AS ONE LONG SLED TRAIN. It was only right to do it up for our last run! We bravely took ourselves (and our egoās) to the very top of the slop and constructed our make-shift vehicle. We lined up the sleds in a row. First the long sled then the two circle sleds following behind. I stepped up to the plate and sat right in front in the long sled ready to steer. My brother sat with me. My sister right behind in one circle sled and Shae coming in last in the other. A yellow rope from the front of the long sled was able to reach to my sister. She held onto that. Shae held onto the back of my sisters sled.
We were ready!Ā
We pushed off and instantly we were FLYING! Itās like our design was meant to cut through air (dramatically speaking ;D) Our course was set and we were picking up speed. It was looking like a great last run! I held tightly to the front. The rope was a good idea for keeping us locked in. Everything was working and all of suddenā¦WE HIT A FUCKING SNOW RAMP! We hit the jump HARD - and we land even harder! Shae was tossed to the side before she could hit the jump. Her sled flips and she rolls like crazy. After landing, we spin out of control and we disconnect with our sister who then slams straight into this innocent girl! THE GIRL FLIPS. BUT IT DOESNāT STOP THERE. The long sled that my brother and I were trapped in starts turning horizontally and without realizing it WE COLLIDE INTO TWO OTHER KIDS.Ā
INSTANT PAIN.
INSTANT REGRETS.
After recovering we all had a really good laugh and debate on why it didnāt go as planned, putting blame on one another for letting go and not committing to the whole ride. Super fun times. A memory we always talk about.
Itās not the craziest story of course, but definitely my one of my favorites and earliest to date. Miss things like that.
Anyways, your 2017 has started out as a cold one! Really awesome to see you enjoying yourself out there in Colorado snowboarding. I feel kinda stupid saying it but...I miss you. It was really nice seeing you for a small window of time before you left. I gotta say, Iāve got the travel bug! I myself am looking to do a lot of traveling this year. Maybe a trip a month (HOPEFULLY) I hope you can join me on a few of those trips and vice-versa, if youāre up for it. I know you have your own travels set up but experiencing adventure with you is still something Iām very much interested in. whaddaya say?

NYE EVE 2016 āØ
Last night was fun! Itās always a good time going out to support friends. Especially Ronās band, Echo Stains. Youāll see them eventually! They played at The Sayers Club in SLS. Very odd. Very adult setting but cool nonetheless. Gave me an excuse to throw on trousers and sort of dress up. (Enjoy the lame mirror pic of Djavan and I lol) SLS has that crazy mirror entrance I gotta show you if havenāt seen it already. Great visuals in the whole casino. As for the actual show, Stains killed it. Decent crowd. My other friends band was great too but unfortunately people kinda dispersed after Echo Stains. It's awesome though, going to local shows means youāll always run into other local musicians. Itās cool knowing bits of the community support each other. After the show we headed to downtown to OddFellows. I didnāt dance at all! I spent most of the time creepily people watching. Still enjoyed myself! I met this poet/writer named Chad that Iāve actually been wanting to meet. (heās a friend of a friend) He independently published his poetry book so I got some really good insight from him! Djavan got super twisted. Long story short, he ended making out with a girl and then two lesbians directly after. Fun, right!? Haha. We ended the night pretty late. Got home around 4ish. Such a nice way to pre-game the funeral of 2016! Happy NYE šāØš

Couldn't really take lots of pictures today.. but here was day 2! Leg day before snow boarding was an absolutely terrible idea.... I pretty much the entire time rode my heels which means going down the mountain horizontally instead of vertically and that KILLED my thighs!!! I had fun though :-) I had two nasty falls, one of which I still feel. First was my knee getting twisted which is okay, but I also fell really hard on my bum and now my tailbone is bruised!! Anyway, this trip was fun but I'm excited to hit the beach now šš

I like that we share the same love for peanut butter (at least I think we do) I could eat this everyday, I swear.

The trip so far!!! It's so pretty. So I'm with the Serranos which is a friend of my dad's. I've known Jojo since I was like 11 or 12 and oddly never really met his parents.. so it's a little weird.. but I'm super talkative and trying to make It less awkward!! We're also with Carl who is 19, Jr. who's probably 22 ish and Toby who is 14. Oh Toby.. he's a handful. Not a bad kid, just odd. He looks just like my cousin Antonio and forgot to mention he has a crush on me. Toby keeps touching my leg and hand and I think he tried to touch my ass. FOURTEEN. Anyway, on our way here we had to stop and help a couple who had gotten stuck. I literally had to pee so bad I was going to explode. Luckily, getting them out only took a minute. Unluckily it was 20 more minutes to the cabin.. ā ļø once we got there we realized the snow was super high and the trucks weren't going to get through. Thank gosh the neighbors were driving down. I asked them if I could use the bathroom..nice.. the dad drove me up to the cabin and the wife was like ?? Who is this?? To her husband .. just ask me lady!! (People in Utah are rude) anyway I'm so grateful for them and their toilet..!!! Then to repay her she made me take her dog inside but I was standing on a steep hill of snow and I fell and I thought I had frostbite on my hand after. That's a picture of their INCREDIBLY beautiful jeep.. if they ever get rid of it.. I'm asking my dad to buy it lol. Tomorrow we're going snow boarding. Stay tuned! Xx

Itās 2:54 am
and all I can think about is adventuring. A road trip anywhere with new music blasting and good feelings everywhere! Hiking a new trail up to a water fall and over looking the greenery... or pulling over in the pitch dark and lighting sparklers and dancing. Sleeping in the car.. a motel.. haha I donāt know. But all I can think about is having so much fun with you

Merry December 25!!! You probably wonāt see this on the 25th, but you get the idea.Ā
This is a play list made by the thought of you. Now while there arenāt many songs, or many new songs for that matter, these few songs are all songs that remind me of you in someway. On a day out, I would play these songs, and It would feel just right. These songs are awesome, and so are you. Check back periodically and new songs will be added.Ā
xoxo, Isabelle.Ā
