He’d come down with a horrible cold or flu—always standing outside as air exec—and had been bedridden for a few days with fever and delirium. Gale of course was by his side as much as possible, but when he gets assigned to a mission he has to try to explain to John why he’s leaving. When John finally understands he breaks down, crying and begging Gale not to go. It’s devastating for Gale to realize this is how John really feels, how scared and heartbroken he is when Gale goes on missions.

flight school buckies where gale wakes up w morning wood and its the dead of summer so he's sleeping in nothing but his shorts and no bedding. buckys already awake staring at him w a shit eating grin and is like "good dream?" bc bucky loves waking up w a hard dick, is always having sex dreams, and even when he isn't he's the kind of guy that gets hot just at the thought of having a boner, a feedback loop kind of pervert, whereas gales morning wood has always been a simple bodily function that means and feels like nothing except sometimes annoying

but this time when buckys propped up over on his own bed across the room, sheet splayed suspiciously conveniently over his hip where he's lying on his side, and he's looking at gale smiling, all bedhead and sleepy eyes and easy grin, gale's morning wood suddenly definitely feels like SOMETHING if you know what I mean
