I am of the belief that architecture / buildings can gain a silent sentience in two major ways
1) genuine love put into it forming a spirit
2, and the most likely to happen imo ) They are abandoned because to be alive is to experience loneliness and know at some point you are left behind
When I see abandoned buildings I feel their melancholy like they’re longing to be occupied again. They just want to be loved and feel more alive to me than they are usually in their prime, hence why I think the abandonment process is their catalyst for coming to life
If it had a spirit before the abandonment process from being loved it’s grief is much heavier for certain
A ficto server I’m in recently held a contest for a new icon. For my entry, I drew Grape-Kun and his ficto love! Grape-Kun was a real life penguin who was very attached to a cardboard cutout of the anime character Hululu that was placed in his enclosure. I think he makes a great mascot for fictosexuality.
Sadly, I think my idea kinda falls flat without context which is why it didn’t win. But no worries, perhaps it can be used somewhere else :>
