Adam update
Read Chapter 69 here!
When the evening came, after Ellie was placed to bed, Raph entered the room. He spotted the alcove and squinted his eyes suspiciously at them.
“What are ya guys doin’?” He asked. “Ya been gone all day, and yer hiddin’ above like yer up ta somethin’.”
“What, us?” Mickey answered. “We would never.”
“Aight, spit it out.” Raph grouchily replied.
Mickey rolled his eyes. “We’re not doing anything. We were just looking at the vacation photos.”
Raph moved his eyes between them both, unsure. Adam nodded to confirm.
“No prank.” He promised him.
Raph grunted but let it go.
“And yer gonna do that all night?” He asked.
Mickey looked at Adam with a smirk. “Nan, I think we’re done for today.” He stated. He picked up his own album and phone and jumped down the alcove, walking out the room. “Adam’s all yours.” He said just before disappearing.
Adam also put away the photos, leaving them on alcove while everything was unfinished before climbing down. He didn’t even have time to ask Raph what was up before he was practically dragged to the garage.
“Here.” He said. He tossed him one of Adam’s sweaters and his bow and arrow. “Ya can drive now, but ya ain’t learned da city rules yet. Me ‘n Case are gonna go beat up some purple dragons. They startin’ ta show up more ‘cause we were gone from da town. Tonight, yer comin’ with us.”

I present to you the cover for Adam, my 2003 fanfic! It took me so long to make it...
Adam is a story about a duo of mutant turtles that were created by Bishop in order to exterminate or capture the turtles once and for all. It didn't work as expected for anyone however. This is a story that is mostly centered around fluff and comfort, with a decent amount of angst.

Adam update
Read Chapter 68 here!
“Goodbye cozy farmhouse.” Mickey said. “Goodbye messy barn. Goodbye awesome lake. Goodbye, vacation.”
“Hello, New York City.” Raph replied.
Adam didn’t think he could ever feel nostalgic about something, considering he’d only been truly alive for a year at most. But the farmhouse’s last view was definitely doing it for him. He could remember all the activities they’d had, the good and the bad. Mostly the good. There had been a lot of good. A lot of growing up too. He would miss it. He wondered how long it would be before Ellie would be able to do all those fun activities too. He hoped it would be soon, but he also didn’t want to rush her life. She would only be a baby for so long after all.
Adam had learned how to use his cycle while there, or at least enough to drive straight anyway. He’d learned to appreciate the sun, he’d watched the stars, walked through the woods, swam in the lake, watched the city in the distance from high atop a mountain. He’d trained and built new weapons, he’d even gotten Casey to get used to taking care of babies and had set up new plans for projects with Don and the others.
It was time to return home.

You know, the 2003 crew got to have a graduation when reaching a new level of Ninja, but the 87 crew never got that when becoming actual masters at the same level as Splinter himself, so I'm giving them one now.
Really, I just wanted the 87 crew to wear the graduation clothes from 03 because they looked awesome. xD

Adam update
Read Chapter 67 here!
In the few minutes Mickey had been left alone, he’d managed to prank Raph good by placing a real grasshopper he’d managed to catch right onto his face. Raph of course panicked before turning his anger to him, making him scramble out of the way. Mickey ran behind Adam.
“Protect me, Adam!” He begged.
“Ya ain’t gettin’ ‘way from me that easily.” Raph replied.
“Ha! Raph, what are ya? Scared o’ bugs?” Casey taunted.
“I’ll show ya scared!” Raph returned, changing his attention to him.
They started brawling while Mickey cheered loudly for Casey. When he and Adam got closer to watch, Raph suddenly turned around to them.
“You ‘n yer yellin’.” He growled.
He jumped for Mickey, catching Adam along the way too. The brawl that had started with two quickly became four, before Leo and Don joined them, making it an all out war. Adam took down Casey in seconds, locking him to the ground until he tapped out. Adam was quickly pulled back into the brawl and they continued fighting amicably until Adam physically couldn’t anymore.
He was practically dragged back to the fire, though they were all happy and alright.
“And here I thought you had finally calmed down after the lake.” April shook her head.
“Well, I think we are now.” Don replied, out of breath.

You know, I'd watched every single TMNT show that existed multiple times. I know the lore, the mini episodes, most of the external content for every single one of those shows... But there was one show that I had never had the guts to finish, one show that I'd only watched 6 episodes before giving up on it for multiple years.
Until now.
And that was Next Mutation, the show nobody wants to acknowledge its existence. And I wanna talk about it real quick. Not just the bad, but the good as well, because as substandard as it was, there were some elements I genuinely liked about it. Not a lot, but gotta take what we can find. So if you'll indulge me, let's get started.
I mean, there's a reason nobody talks about it, and that's because it's hot garbage lol. There's a LOT wrong about that show, from the acting, to the stupid sound effects they added everywhere, to the "fight scenes", if I can even call them that, to even the fact that the costumes for the turtles and splinter in action scenes couldn't even close their mouths anymore, so they look idiotic. I'm not gonna spend too long on the bad because I'm sure it's all been said before, but I will summarize what I found the worst of it.
Spoiler alert that you learn in the first episode, but if you didn't know, this show has an extra turtle, Venus the Milo, who is honestly the only good friendly character in that entire show. She's not perfect in any way, but she is the only one to have character growth and any sort of maturity in that group, Splinter included. But adding a female turtle means they felt the need to make all the male ones macho and gross. Like stuffing their faces right next to her boobs and shaking their booties in her face type of gross.

The poor girl lost her master, her only family, and seaked a connection with the others so badly throughout the show, meanwhile the others were quick to tell her they were not sibblings (they never even used that term past the first 2 episodes, instead refering to each other as "friends") because they wanted to go out with her (spoiler alert, she never did, with any of them).
They also loved to make fun of disabled people, specifically this poor blind guy that played chess with Splinter in the park. For an entire episode, they just made him the dumbest, clumsiest blind person to ever exist, and it was just sad, for a lack of a better word. He didn't just bump into things, the moment he was in their lair, he decided it was a good idea to grab everything without asking and mess around with everyone's equipment and toys with no care in the world. He almost whacked Venus in the face, managed to ruin a smoke bomb by tossing it on the floor and even fired an arrow near his face before thinking it was a hook for his hat, despite his hands literally brushing over the feathers of the arrow. He thought Leo's sword was just a kitchen knife and used Raph's sai to remove his socks, without asking for permission for any of those things I might add. It was an excruciating episode and I really did not enjoy it at all.
In another, they refused to consider that a dragon (nothing to do with purple dragons, they are legit dragon people, the main enemy group of this show) could ever be good, because "all dragons are bad" until realizing that one of them "wasn't like the others", and it just felt pretty racist to me. Oh and they also killed the Shredder before bringing him back as a hobo to clean garbage trash with the turtles.
You get the gist, there's a lot I could say about the bad, and I could rattle on about it all day, but that's not what this post is really about.
No, what I want to talk about is the ONE episode I found legit interesting. Calling it "good" would be an overstatement, but there's a few main things I really like about that episode. And it's episode 12: Turtles Night Out.
But first, a very quick backstory. In a previous episode, the turtles met a hunter guy (very caricatural, but if you can get past the clichés, he's actually kinda funny sometimes). This guy was trying to illegally sell an endangered species of turtle (I believe it might've been a red-eared slider, but I don't know for sure, maybe you can tell from the picture).

Of course, the turtles wouldn't let him have that baby turtle, which led to this incredible ending.
Anyway, it seemed that that turtle really marked Mikey, because in episode 12, we learn that Mikey actually hosts an illegal radio channel, where he talks, plays music and even answers calls (we later learn that a lot of those dragon enemies actually love that radio show and regularly listen to it, which is admittedly pretty funny). While he's driving in their truck and talking to his audience, back at the lair, Splinter has this quick exchange with Donnie.
Splinter: "Donatello, tune in Michelangelo's show." Donnie: "But you hate that show." Splinter: "I don't hate Michelangelo. Tune it in."
Which is very cute imo. It means that despite hating the show, he will still make an effort to listen to what his kids make. This is one of the traits I really like the most about a Splinter, so it was fun to see it here (and only here, he never does anything like that again sadly).
They turn the radio on, and Mikey tells his ever growing audience that he's organizing a rave party. Using his popularity, he decides to hosts a costumed party, where people can come in disguised as their favorite animal, to raise money for endangered species. This is the only time in that entire show where we see any of the turtles have any sort of mature hobby or activity. Seriously, throughout the show, outside of Donnie sometimes making some machinery and the guys fighting once in a while, all these dudes ever do is chat online, cook food, and make all the mistakes dumb teenagers ever do. Leo will sometimes read books or train and Venus meditates, but that's it. So this episode was a real breath of fresh air to see that Mikey not only manages an entire radio show, but also took the time to plan and organize a rave party just to raise money for a good cause. Good on him.
I will mention though that Mikey and his brothers/friends kept making weird flirty comments to all the girls at the party, so that did put a damper on my enjoyment of that episode, but still, at its core, the radio and raising money trait fits perfectly for a Mikey and it was really interesting to see. They also had to fight the hunter guy and some thugs, who were angry that someone dared making money in their turf without their approval, and had to pretend to be clumsy or dancing while kicking those guys' butts so the rest of the crowd wouldn't freak out, a bit like they did in one of the 90s movies. It was pretty enjoyable, one of the rare fights that didn't feel overly ridiculous to me. Too bad all the other episodes sucked ass lol.
There's a LOT more I could say about that show. I didn't even mention the last episode being a flashback episode instead of a real ending, or that regularly, one of the turtles would want to save the life of a dubious person (enemy, half enemy, unknown, whatever), because it's the right thing to do and they might get an alliance out of it, but the others just... refuse to help, honor be damned (and yes, I very much include Leo in that, he refuses to help almost more than the others), or even talk about that human scientist working for the dragons (think Baxter Stockman but more excentric and much less charismatic), who was so infatuated with Donnie that it gave me some gay vibes in one episode
But this post is already way too long as it is, so I will end up by saying that according to Donnie, in that show, their body temperature is around 63.2F/17.3C (instead of 97.6F/37C for humans), and does not seem to shift depending on the outside temperature, unlike cold-blooded creatures, so... mesothermic confirmed?

What's been your favorite thing that's come from writing the Adam AU so far? Am very curious.

Ooh, Thanks for your question! There's a few things that come to mind, if you'll indulge me.
When it comes to writing Adam, I would say that when I started writing fics, months before Adam became a thing, I did it because there was a scenario I was curious about, but I'd never (and still haven't) seen anyone else write it, so I decided to write it myself. Then I wrote other stories a bit like I watch a show; one episode at a time, trying to see where it leads me. But Adam was the first one that continued so far away that it became its own thing, its own universe. It was no longer a "what if" prompt like all the others, it has its own life now. That made me want to continue it more, to really make it shine and do more research on the unknown lore of the show. To write more styles and find more content.
As for actually posting it, I've always had a hard time participating in the community. I was a silent watcher, liking things on my own without communicating with anyone else. It's still very difficult for me to be extra sociable, I'm just not very outspoken online, but since I posted Adam, I've made a conscious effort to write more comments, to post more content, to answer more questions... I guess I'm a real part of the community now, and I want it to stay alive.
But the favorite thing that came from both writing and posting Adam is the fact it got me back to drawing. It's because of it and the amazing reactions I got from people like you that I got my motivation to post more content, to find a new artstyle that suits me and make doodles. Without it, I'd still be in my own corner, never sharing my stuff anywhere. And I couldn't have done it without the motivation that came from getting views and comments, reblogs and likes, so I have to thank everyone who take the time to read, watch, and interact with my content. Thank you! It keeps me going, and I appreciate it. =^^=

Adam update

Finally, the last day was upon them.
Well, technically there was still one more day, but that one would be spent packing, so it didn’t count in Mike’s mind.
They made sure to do a bit of everything that day. They took a small walk in the woods, stopped by the lake for a quick swim, did a little bit more biking and played with Ellie in the grass. Adam had a blast rolling around it with her, now that she could actually get free from being stuck upside down.
So many opportunities missed according to Mickey.
He tailed Adam pretty much the whole day. He wanted to get as many pictures as he could for the last day, and he was curious as to what Adam did with the others when they weren’t looking. With Don, it was easy. They would just geek out. Or nerd out. Whichever. Their current subjects seemed to be some bike adjustments and, of course, the lair replica.
With Raph, it was surprisingly calm moments. When they weren’t biking together, they would just hide somewhere and chill. Nothing else, just… sitting together, a few hushed conversations, a lot of watching around. It seemed Adam could mellow Raph just as much as Raph could bring Adam’s wilder side out. And Adam could bring Don’s excitement, or Leo’s gentleness, or Mickey’s attention, just as much as they could return the favor.
A well oiled family.
