( ooc ): Out of all the turn characters, I feel like Abe, Simcoe, Caleb, and Richard have turned in bed and fell out of bed at least once in their life
#( ooc )#( I want to also say ben but I feel like he nearly fell and caught himself )#( I would also add Rogers but he falls out of bed at least once a week because of his hang over so it's more than once )

Spy Sentences, Vol. 16
(Sentences from various sources for spies and/or secretive muses. Adjust phrasing where needed)
"I've heard stories about you. They can't all be true."
"For once in your life, admit that you are up against something bigger than you!"
"Don't you dare play the innocent with me!"
"The world doesn't know it, but it's counting on you."
"I don't always like the way you do things, but whatever our disagreements, I have the highest regard for your integrity."
"Forgive me if I have a lingering respect for life."
"I canโt believe you authorised this!"
"You knew this was going to happen and you didn't say anything?"
"Have you ever actually killed anybody, or do you just talk them to death?"
"You almost got us all killed today!"
"Do you take me for the sort of fool who'd make myself look so suspicious?"
"Why do you have a gun?"
"I actually hate guns, but hey, it's part of the job."
"They're going to arrest me tomorrow, and you. It's almost a certainty."
"In our job, there's always going to be something between you and a woman. It's dishonesty, and dishonesty poisons everything."
"You don't need to trust them, but you do need to trust me."
"This is not the time to pull threats. Do you understand?"
"And I should believe in you? A spy?"
"A man doesn't have to be brave to pull the trigger, but he must be brave enough to face the consequences."
"You would murder me?"
"I knew you'd come."
"You poisoned her!"
"Put the gun down. I'm not talking like this."
"I cannot for one moment believe that any breach of confidence on your part was deliberate, but your haphazard way of working was always bound to lead to this kind of cock-up!"
"I know what I'm talking about, and you know that I know what I'm talking about."
"Are you watching my house?"
"I don't forget anything - or anyone."
"We're after the same thing. I can help you."
"You have a rather unorthodox style, but you did save my life."

The baby couldโve been left in worse places, like the tavern or in Robinsonโs care, but he wondered why the baby hadnโt been left at Whitehall or the garrison where more people were present.
ย ย ย ย ย โ It couldโve come from Oyster Bay, itโs close enough,โ Abe guessed, turning over the parchment to find it empty on the other side. He shifted Thomas on his hip to steady him better. โ It canโt be someone from Setauket, they wouldโve left the baby at the garrison. โ
ย ย ย ย ย The question Mary asked made Abe look up, furrowing his brows. โ What? No. โ He shook his head. โ I have no idea how this baby came here. โ He was more confused than angry at the insinuation, brushing over the fact that the cheating scandal was not that long ago, fresh in the rumor mill of Setauket. Abraham had been careful of his movements in Setauket, not daring to step inside the tavern while everyoneโs eyes were on him. Anna was the only woman he had interacted with in that manner. If it was Annaโs, she would have told him sooner. Abraham would hope so.
ย ย ย ย ย โ Iโll see my father tomorrow, I can ask him if he knows anyone surrounding Setauket who is missing a child. Or Iโll ride out myself and ask. โ

( ooc ): So Long London played on spotify and Abe started to have feelsTM again. I always imagined this as Anna's pov and it weirdly suits both Annlett and Abe x Anna.
#( ooc )#( I know the fandom hates anna and abe together )#( I'm more of an annlett person myself )#( but there is something so tragic with anna and abe )#( I don't condone them having an affair of course but to me when I look at this with my perspective of abe now hurts me )

It was a different story for the line of operation with the intelligence report to reach Washington, at least he was gathering the intelligence alone with no hassle. He hardly knew Templeton and here he was already starting to argue with him.ย
ย ย ย ย ย It took what little patience he had not to roll his eyes. His jaw stiffened and his eyelids lowered to a glare. He looked up at Templeton, his hands resting on his hips. โ Long enough to know what Iโm doing. โ He might not have a place to stay exactly, but that hardly mattered when he thought over his plan long-term. He needed a pass into the city, thatโs what mattered to him most of all. โ Thereโs a boarding house that has rented rooms. I know the owner. I have worked out a system, trust me. A magistrateโs son has more reasons to be in the city than you think. โ Templeton was a businessman just as much as his father was, he assumed. When the Judge wasnโt dealing with legal issues in Setauket, he was taking care of his hogs to send to York City. Abe was a farmer when his crops harvested right, and once was a student at Kingโs College, he was far from any suspicion in his mind.ย
ย ย ย ย ย โ You have lodging, great, thatโs useful, but whatโs your plan beyond that? โ Abraham prodded further, as if he was searching for a foil in Templetonโs plans.ย
Almost before the cabbage farmer had finished speaking, Templeton could feel his eyebrows shifting toward his hairline. โExcuse me?โ he tried very hard not to laugh, but a strangled note at the back of his throat came out anyways. โAnd your grand history with these kinds of delicate operations isโฆwhat? Six months? A year?โ That was a mere drop in the bucket to Templetonโs experience, which was easily over a decade by now. At least, that was his official experience. As a man who had grown up between a small orphanage and the streets of Ipswich, he developed an infinity for snooping at an early age. He had barely reached ten years old when he began to realize how much power information hadโand a few years after that, he started a series of brutal lessons on how information could ruin lives if it fell into the wrong hands. ย Since then, he had become very interested in manipulating that power source, and directing it toward the areas that he felt were the best. Espionage was simply the official name for his actions. His connections with the Culper Ring were nebulous at best. Officially he was a businessman from Philadelphia, who often traveled to York City for connected reasons. The fact that these trips occasionally took him through Setauket, and he enjoyed patronizing Mrs. Strongโs tavern for a meal, or renting a room so he could avoid traveling at night, seemed perfectly innocent on the surface. Just because packets of paper occasionally left the hidden pockets in his jacket, and made it into Annaโs handsโฆ wellโฆ that hardly had to be public knowledge. Having to work directly with Mr. Woodhull, however, was a bit galling. He preferred dropping off interesting information that he wanted the Patriots to get, and leaving. Connections meant complications. Especially when they were arrogant connections.
He huffed a sigh and adjusted his cuffs carefully, before trying to pick a more reasonable course for his next words. โI know we have to travel to York City togetherโbut what makes you think youโre that much better at entering the city than I am? You donโt even have a place to stay if I understand correctly. I have regular lodgings in the city, and a landlord that asks few questions.โ
