Gender Identity, Gender Expression, and Gender Dysphoria Survey

I’m conducting a survey to gather data for my conference project for my psychology class. The purpose of this survey is to investigate the relationship between about gender expression, gender identity, sexual orientation, and gender dysphoria.

I’m looking for anyone 18 or older to fill out this survey, but I especially need people who are cisgender and non-heterosexual to fill it out! Right now I don’t have enough lesbian, gay, bisexual, pansexual, queer, MLM, WLW, and other non-straight respondents who identify as cis/non-trans.

You have to be 18+ to fill out the survey. This is a practical issue- I need my school’s IRB approval for the survey if it involves minors because I’m doing this for a college class, and the IRB doesn’t meet until close to my project deadline. If I do my survey with only 18+ subjects, I can get an IRB exemption because it’s an anonymous survey that isn’t expected to cause any harm. Minors are welcome to reblog this post to boost it though!

I have a large sample of trans folk, but I need more cisgender people to have an accurate sample!

My uncle is a small town doctor in the US and has a practicing license in Ireland as well and I’ve had conversations with him where he’s talked about SENDING HIS PATIENTS TO IRELAND because the flight costs + time off work + treatment come out to LESS than staying at home and getting treated. 

I’m sure Americans could probably fly to Europe once every 6 months, pick up a travel supply of insulin there, and then go home for cheaper than buying insulin in the US.

Can we please stop the White Feminist™ idea that naked = empowered?

Because I had to watch the Muslim girl in my history class lucture the class on Islam’s treatment of women and why she wears her hijab to feel closer to god, because some new girl in our class tried to coerce her into taking it off, and then proceeded to try to take it off her.

I made sure she was alright after class and she told me she’s used to it. I. Got. Pissed. Because this sweet girl is used to other people trying to rip her hijab off. I’m not Muslim, but from what I understand, that’s like being used to people trying to rip your shirt off of you.

Also, this idea doesn’t just threaten and offend Muslim women and girls. Because a lot of women and afab people don’t like being naked. It’s not empowering to them, it’s demeaning. For example, I don’t like being naked, because I just don’t feel comfortable with it. But still, my family still forces me to wear bikinis to the beach and thinks I’m self conscious just because I don’t want to wear the least amount of clothes possible.
