like one thing that just stresses me about Guy comedy/ies and tbh them as extension of just a lot of like shonen/seinen (in the demographic sense) is just allergic to introspection not necessarily as in the constructive sense but as in what comes when say being alone in a room for a long time with nothing to do; the silence. they always got some shit going on always some noise, comedy or hatred or externalized self deprecation or making things someone else's problems those people never fight the demons JUST in their heads. and like it sounds vague to describe i admit, but when you see them back to back and from genre to genre you can tell there's always some crutch, The Girl, some guy there's to destroy or kill or something to get really loud over ANYTHING to avoid Dwelling and staying in the weird range of uncomfortable silence of frailty or sadness and the like. like in the long term that just feels like half-assing things...

like to expound, even if marginally i wasn't so sure what made me not find the sundome main character guy asssss insufferable as some others but i guess it's more clear next to the designated pervert gag characters IN sdm and the next main character guy one in ibitsu etc. i mean he's just as horny as them he's just less loud (as in. literally less loud. in the joking and screaming and wailing and bitching sense).

nah i gave sundome some praises (if you can call them that) bc it was sort of personally refreshing on a short term margin, but ibitsu from the same author tried to grasp something slightly more complex but exactly because of it the sudden ending is more glaring than in sdm. because sdm is a lot of Not A Lot Happening and a low stakes for 70ch, much of it is more evenly paced. ibt went for higher stakes but w the same type of pacing as in sdm and in the end much is left unresolved in the same span of chapters as in sdm. so yes i think the ending is unnecessarily forced and unsatisfactory.

to be honest after ibt without having to read the other two works of the author you can exactly tell the order all 5 were published just seeing the synopses and the thematic n tonal curve they have. tbh i lost the little interest as soon as i say the increase in plain gag comedy, pervert gag comedy to be honest (choose pervert or comedy one or the other pick a struggle) 1. as it was more central in ibt (i could just skip it in sdm bc it was more clearly separated from the drama) since the gag pervert is the other main character -_- 2. by pansuto the odd eerie vibe basically vanished so like what am I here for if i know the more amateur ones before sdm are not even gonna have a hint of it..

like so far out of those 6, dont say mystery is the one im more satisfied with and the one that surprised me was sundome (<- asking for help), the second not too much but for the conditions i at least can say i felt the ending more than i expected.
