So, I wanna know what do you think about dadsuma and mumbo? Specifically, there is this particular dynamic of mumbo having both doc and xisuma as father figures and I literally cant stop thinking about it. There's only a few works on it about the three but they makes me so insane! Yes, let mumbo have all the father figures, he deserves it.

I am biting the table UGHHH I LOVE THE DADSUMA AND MUMBO DYNAMIC

In my mind, Mumbo didn't really have a parental figure, especially in his teenage years, but he DID have role models. Etho was a big one, but Xisuma was also up there

Xisuma knew Mumbo since he was 17! Maybe even when he was 16 or something, idk! So Xisuma was able to watch Mumbo grow up and change, taking him under his wing and always helping

Mumbo definitely sees Xisuma as a father figure, probably has called him dad by accident in the early seasons before it started to feel natural. And Xisuma definitely sees Mumbo as his son, wanting to see him succeed... maybe he even sees himself in him sometimes, maybe he sees him and his brother, Evil X... but he'll never admit it

As for Doc, I feel like that makes a LOT of sense. Doc's a redstone genius, of COURSE Mumbo would also look up to him. Maybe that's where his more "murder machine" tendencies come from as well! Doc has that cool old grandpa vibe that likes to be rough with his grandchildren sometimes, yknow? He definitely would let Mumbo try a smoke while Xisuma is incredibly against it (that's Mumbo's introduction to being able to "eat" or smoke redstone btw real not clickbait)

Doc knows Mumbo when he was obviously a bit older, but still somewhat young and learning. Maybe it's the new hybrid instincts or maybe its because he's an old goat, but he feels the fatherly protection kick in every time. He's not afraid to refer to him as a son, because he sees him that way! And Mumbo, despite not really calling him dad the same way he does Xisuma, does see him as a father figure

Hermitcraft is Mumbo's found family so of course he'll have his dads :-)

As a fellow aroace mumbo enjoyer I think you'd enjoy my insane rambles-

So I think Scar and Mumbo are both aroace. They're both a bit different tho- Mumbo never really thought about romance too much. He's never really found someone attractive and he's never had a crush.

He finds some people aesthetically pleasing and I think that he thinks that's what romantic and/or sexual attraction is supposed to be like. He's never thought about it too much, he just though "huh that person looks nice.", classified it as attraction in his mind and moved on.

He doesn't think about romance and he just simply doesn't care.

Scar on the other hand had quite a bit of difficulty figuring stuff out. He finds people attractive, he likes the idea of having a partner and he likes the idea of dating, but any time he thinks he likes someone romantically and tries to imagine dating them he gets uncomfortable. It just doesn't feel right.

I think Scar would randomly stumble across the the term aroace and it sends him into a bit of a rabbit hole. He finds the terms he thinks fit him and it puts him on ease knowing there's other people like him out there and that he's not just broken or something.

Now he knows that there's other people like him out there, he just never thought It'd be someone on the server!

I think Scar would randomly mention something about being aroace or complain about something allo people do and Mumbo would kinda stop in his tracks and ask scar to elaborate or explain.

I think that's how Mumbo figures out that no, not everyone feels like him.

Idk I just think it'd be nice if they then bonded over that and if Mumbo found out a bit about himself through Scar

Thinking about how maybe Mumbo started to figure himself out during s8 specifically, because him and Scar were so close living wise and got closer as friends as well

Imagine Boatem having their usual sleepover, all the others are dead asleep while the two are awake, catching up and talking. Suddenly Scar mentions about being aroace, and Mumbo perks up at the word, questioning what it is and to elaborate further (he always wants to be supportive of course)!

The more Scar talks about it and how he feels, the more Mumbo just starts getting the realisation like "Oh shit." and suddenly blurts out that he might be the same

Cue them bonding about it more the entire night, and them becoming even closer

Okay so BACKSTORY I headcanon Mumbo as fully aroace. Mostly due to projecting but ALSO because it fits in my head! This makes shipping impossible for me as I'm not a big fan of it, the most I could do is qpr

So UH OH Martyn and Mumbo just got randomly married in LL? Mumbo doesn't know if it's a joke or not, he's confused but he also REALLY likes it? He can't always tell with Martyn, especially since have only now met*

All Mumbo knows is that he might like him? It feels nice holding Martyn's hand, it feels nice being close - I mean he does the same with Grian all the time but this is different. He actually loves someone more than a friend or soulmate.. and it's scary, but nice

Martyn on the other hand LOVES Mumbo. There's something about him. He's definitely not like Ren or, hell, even the other players, no... he feels more Human. Maybe that's what draws him in, seeing how he glows when he smiles, his laugh when he says a joke.

Martyn went through 3rdLife and that permanently changed him, it didn't help that the Watchers were bothering him THIS season as well, so seeing someone so human... he got shot through the heart, yknow?

They were happy, with Martyn and Mumbo both talking through it, knowing boundaries on affection and everything.

To add to the end: Martyn's love language towards Mumbo is act of service while Mumbo's is gift giving :-)
