The Docks

THE DOCKS….

Little Jackie was only 14 years old when him and his two friends Tommy and Luis snuck onto the Docks. They were the ones who were always looking to prove people wrong, and this was to be their greatest challenge. Their classmates started spreading rumors about an old man who went missing on a fishing trip who started stealing children who dared sneak onto the docks after sundown. Jackie, Tommy, and Luis went there anyway.

“Come on Luis, stop being a pussy. Nothing is there, all those rumors CLEARLY aren’t true. They’re all a bunch of stupid kids that want to believe in monsters.” Tommy explained as he was walking on the trails that led to the Docks.

“Yeah, stop being a pussy Luis. Obviously it’s fake. We got our cameras to prove it. We’ll post this on Youtube, show all our classmates that they’re idiots.” Jackie convinces Luis.

“I….I…. don’t think we should do this guys. We could have possibility of getting our heads chopped off! You’ve heard the legend!” Luis cried.

“Would you just stop! Nothing is there!” Tommy shouted.

“Fine.”

The boys kept walking deeper and deeper into the woods, and finally, they hit the Docks.

With creaking of swaying boats and the distant sounds of birds and waves, it was a gloomy scene for the boys. The first to jump the fence was Jackie, then Tommy who had to carry a crying Luis on his back.

“If the rumors aren’t true, how do you explain Payton? He disappeared a week after the fisherman did.” Luis tried to explain his case.

Jackie laughed, “Payton is probably in his uncle’s sex dungeon”

Luis laughed with Jackie and Tommy, but he still was worried. As they carried on to the pier, they heard sounds coming from under the docks… as if… they were laughing too.

“WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT!?!?!” Luis screamed.

“Relax stupid that was my phone, it’s my text tone. It’s from my girlfriend, it was a nice picture…”

“LEMME SEE TOMMY!” Jakie said excitedly.

“Ha, you keep dreaming. Anyways, Luis, we’re gonna be fine. We’re about to be at the docs, we’ll head under them, flash the light, and film absolutely nothing. Happy now? Good, cause there’s no turning back..”

Once the boys got to the docks, they jumped off the wood into the creek.. Tommy flashed the light, and like he said there was nothing under there.

“See Luis there’s nothing here…….AHHHH!”

Luis and Jackie looked back and their friend was gone….

“WHAT THE FUCK ARE WE GONNA DO?!?!?” Luis cried.

“Eyeeee, what do we have here… oh, just some children who dared to even THINK I wasn’t real... “ the mysterious man explained.

“I’m sorry sir, I tried to warn them, I’m really, really sorry… Dad.” said Luis.

“THIS MAN IS YOUR DAD?!?!” Jakie asked.

“Yeah, well, he WAS my dad. You see, the legend doesn’t say that he actually died, this man you see a corpse.”

“Son, what did I say about letting your friends ANYWHERE near me! You knew all I wanted was my peace. My suicide was for me to have my peace. To get away from my job as a stripper just to make enough money to get you all the things you wanted. To get away from your abusive mother, that’s the reason you’re in foster care. Son, please go back home.”

“Dad, can you give us back Tommy now?” Luis asked.

“Uh… I didn’t take anybody tonight… sorry lad”

“Well… if you didn’t take him… who did?”

“Luis, the legend isn’t about me… it’s about my master. He’s the one who takes all the children, not me. He’s ten times bigger than us, he can breath underwater. He makes me guard the docs, but if he hears someone say he’s not real… well you can call your friend dead by now. You see, he kills the children by cutting open the stomach and ripping out the organs to eat. Then, he uses the bones to add to his bone collection. The skin holds the magic, he uses it to have powers and breath underwater. Go, I hear him coming! NOW!”

The boys rushed out of the Docks and left knowing the truth behind the legend of the Docks….

Luis’ father walks up to Payton’s uncle. “The deed is done, master”
