awh, man, sorry for the lack of activity (again). i’m struggling to keep all my blogs afloat and i keep forgetting elias. ;;

Me, honestly, ALSO CHECK OUT THE VICTORIAN FARM, VICTORIAN PHARMACY, AND VICTORIAN CHRISTMAS TV SHOWS! its the same group but they have to live as victorians (for the farm) for a full year. Its one historian and two archeologists so theyre just pumped and follow it to a T. Its full of soooo much info. They focus on the everyday man and on little details like how sticky and black coal burning made everything unless you cleaned everyday.

          “H-hn...?!” Elias shot up from his bed, startled by Wynn’s cheery voice as they were already moving about his home doing... well, whatever it was that they did ever morning before waking him. “Fräulein Maverick! I f-forbid you to come in!”

          Flustered, he rolled, and in his hurry nearly tangled himself in his sheets and fell to the floor. Sleep was the only time that Elias didn’t mind or fear the exposure of his skin, so on warm nights he often only slept in his underdrawers. 

          “Y-you’re awake rather early this morning!” he huffed, struggling to put on his trousers.

Getting into fights was an awful habit he had. He acted tough, but sometimes, his age caught up to him. Going around picking fights shouldn’t have been his forte anymore, but it was.           It wasn’t a time to hesitate, but Elias was caught in indecision. He didn’t want to get involved if he didn’t have to, and it wasn’t his fault the fellow got himself into a scrape he couldn’t handle---- Damn it all, though. He couldn’t just leave him to bleed.

          “Verehrter Herr-- please, sit,” he urged. Elias was careful not to touch him even with his gloves on, but instead motioned toward a nearby bench. “You travelers, always looking for trouble and biting off more than you can chew...”

          "Why does anything have to die?” he questioned back. It was only until he looked down at the boy and the caught firefly dead in the child’s hands that he regretted such a thoughtless response

          “That is...” Elias cleared his throat and tried to soften his expression. “I think perhaps-- they die because they’re beautiful.” Like flowers, like sunsets, like Frieda. "Beautiful things always die eventually.”

          Because in the end, beautiful things can’t exist in a world so ugly.

(Hi its archivieren) Honestly I like that its an intense power that he cant exactly control? I dont consider him OP at all! I think that would only really count if he was the type of character that just killed people whenever and never felt bad about it. I think its hella interesting that he's so scared of this ability :o (also it can lead to some hella angst threads ya feel me)

That’s true. For a power that can literally kill people through skin-on-skin contact, having him be really opposed to using it is helpful.

If no one thinks that it’s too OP, I’m reaaaally tempted to amp it up just a little so that if he holds onto them long enough, maybe the skin would even grow really diseased and blackened? Mostly because this blog is supposed to lie within the fantasy/horror genre and making his power a bit more grotesque would make that more apparent. Hmm. I dunno, maybe I’ll play around with it a little bit.

But yes! Gosh, angsty threads are what I live for. There’s a ton of possibilities and I hope that I’ll be able to explore some of them.

outofpaints; Sometimes I wonder if I need to nerf Elias’ power a li’l. Right now, he can kill people by touching them, but it’s very slow. They get sick at first and depending how long he’s in contact with them, they may or may not recover even if treated. I imagine this power would become perpetually stronger as he gets older. Perhaps when he becomes an old man, he might be able to instantly or almost instantly kill someone by touch? But I probably won’t write him that old, simply because that’s way too much power.

Anyway, do you guys think this is “handicap” enough so that he’s not too OP?
