He sees no hint of lie - not a single twitch of a body, nothing that could indicate it all being an act. The girl is either honest or very, very good liar.

This is his chance. The detective still is not sure whether or not Misa’s stupidity was an act - but now he can attempt to test it, and if he succeeds...

Kira could lose a follower, and L could win someone for his pleasure

“I do not think Miss Amane is dumb,” he tilts his head ever so slightly to the right, like a confused child would. “Neither useless. Miss Amane is a very clever girl, and very beautiful too,” only one of these qualities is true, but L knows how to lie, how to put up a perfect act - his eyes are glued to Misa’s, and one of his fingers travels up to his mouth - perhaps the only thing that is not an act right now, his tendency to chew - on fingers, candy, whatever he can get into his mouth. 

When he was younger, Watari taught him the art of showing affection - perhaps this is the only thing he is unsure of in his act. L shows affection rarely, and his ways are not those most would accept as affection - he knows that Misa would certainly not see them as appropriate, and he does not want to show true affection to her.

An act will do. His finger slips out of his mouth, as a bony, pale out reaches out to cup Misa’s cheek. L wants to cringe at the touch - there is something off about it he doesn’t like, but he proceeds without a twitch.

“Miss Misa is a clever girl,” his voice is quieter now, as if afraid to wake up the other man in the room, “And Yagami underappreciates her. I would be glad to see miss Misa help with investigation,” and the bait has been cast. 

         Her eyes, a dark hazel without her contact lenses in to color them sky blue, scan the monitor in front of him. It’s something technical and boring – no doubt related to the investigation, although she DOUBTS that he’s been staring at graphs and figures all night. Days ago she may have declared him a friend, removed his status as a PERVERT – only one of those two things had been genuine, and now even that has lost its footing. Ryuzaki is NOT her friend; she KNOWS that he watches her on those cameras. It’s what they’re there for, and she takes the fact that he’s tabbed away from the surveillance screens now as confirmation. Why HIDE IT if there was nothing to hide?

                             He makes her skin crawl.

         Still, she grits her teeth and SMILES when his chair spins to face her. It isn’t her camera-smile, big and bright enough to fill the room – the curve of her mouth is subtle, somewhat sleepy. A private kind of smile – a four in the morning kind of smile. Misa doesn’t look at Light, but his presence is what grounds her. It keeps her temper subdued, it keeps her on her toes.

         She’s doing this for LIGHT. This Light, this boy-who-is-not-yet-Kira, sleeping soundly, might not understand – but MISA’S Light will. She doesn’t need her memories to know it. He’ll praise her for her efforts when the time comes.

                             She wouldn’t do this for anyone else.

         “Misa couldn’t sleep,” she says, knowing that he is perfectly aware. “Not with everything that’s happened the last few days.” And this part is important – she glances at Light, very quickly, WISTFULLY – it doesn’t need to be acted. There is no lack of sincerity in the way she looks at him, like doing so causes something to clutch and squeeze painfully in her chest. A moment later she glances at the statistics laid out on the monitors. Her feet shuffle quietly, anxious.

         “I’m glad that he worries enough about me to keep me from investigating those guys or whatever, but… all I wanted was to be helpful.” Her gaze travels from the screen to Ryuzaki again, and Misa looks straight at him, eye-to-eye. “I know you think I’m dumb, but I’m not, like, totally useless.”

“Well, you see,” he takes a swig, “I’m the best drunker on the earth. No better. I drink so much that the things that happen are out of this world - literally, and they are the best stories - however… I cannot tell any. They’re a secret.”

“He…” L pulls a face, sipping his coctail, “A bloody thot, he is. Fucking thot, and Kira. I might be drunk, but I know he is Kira. I’m right. I’m always right.”

🍑 - Favorite fruit

Does strawberry count as fruit? No? Then melon. They’re sweet and juicy, without being TOO juicy like oranges or pears.

🍴- Favorite meal

I’m going to assume this question means “favourite meal of the day” not “favourite food” and… honestly,  breakfast. Nobody can bother him about eating 294 gummy bears or five bowls of fruit salad for breakfast, which is honestly a good plus - L doesn’t give a fuck what others think of him, but he also does not like anyone interrupting his actions.

🔎 - Random detail about them

L’s fingernails are always kept short and taken good care of, but it is not due to himself. Rather, it is thanks to Watari, who, at least once per week, takes L to his room and cuts his fingernails as short as possible without hurting him, and almost every night makes sure to clean out any filth from underneath. L doesn’t really like the process, but he’s willing to go through it for the sake of making his father happy.

Something others do that gets on their nerves:(Since I already replied to this, I’ll just copy it.)

Doubt him. L likes being right, and he is absolutely sure of the fact that he is right - so he takes anyone doubting him(save for a few very special people) as an insult quite often. 

🔋 - What makes them feel better after a long day?

Though he doesn’t admit it, L likes affection if it’s from someone he trusts, and almost exclusively it happens to be Watari. He likes the old man reading to him, or just talking to him about anything that isn’t about the cases - the weather, or tales from his youth, or just about anything. He really, really likes the way Watari speaks, and founds his voice quite calming.

💀 - What are they afraid of?

L sees himself as the unfalling, all-knowing detective who is never wrong, always protected by his numerous shields, untraceable, undefeatable, with iron-hard defence against all known things…

So naturally, unknown frightens him, since there is no way to truly achieve protection from it.
